What a great find, The Red Lion on the Ashford Road in Badlesmere advertises that their kitchen is totally gluten free. What a joy to think that you can eat anything from their menu without having to worry. We had the tempura vegetables with sweet and sour sauce and the Lion burger, both were excellent, followed by the homemade ginger cheesecake. The hosts were wonderful, the service was great and the pub is dog friendly. They have a fantastic outdoor eating area and a play area for the little ones in the garden. If you are travelling from Faversham along the A251 Ashford Road, stop at The Red Lion in Badlesmere, we will certainly visit again.

Traditional English pub dating back to 1654 with a luxurious country feel. Real fireplaces throughout. Unique interiors, freehouse. Real ales, cask beers, excellent wines. The food is locally sourced, regularly updated and delicious. A stunning private di
Visited this place for the first time since it's been a restaurant. Previously, it was a pub.Went with a group of people. There is a good selection of food on the menu, all at reasonable prices. You can choose between having starters and mains, or simply a selection of small plates. We had a variety of both. The waiter/owner ensured that all the food was served at the same time. The food, without exception, was delicious. The portions were huge, although it was explained that they could do smaller lunch versions of some of the dishes. It would have been nice to see a lunch menu if they had one. However, we were very impressed with the food and the standard of service. This is certainly one of the best places to eat close to Sittingbourne.

What is there to say about The Who'd a Thought It? The building is a restored sixteenth century pub, no doubt the site of countless parties and celebrations over the centuries, and is now a luxurious Champagne bar, restaurant and hotel. At the Whody, you
Have lived close by for quite a few years, meaning to try. Eventually did last, Thursday - wow! Not only is the decor unique and fantastic, but the food is out of this world. Whether you choose the crab salad, tomato /mozzarella or scallops for starters, apart from other tasty morsels on menu, you will not be disappointed. Had steaks for main course, 2 x fillets and 1 x ribeye, perfect quality and cooked immaculately according to order of 2 x medium and 1 x medium/rare. Not one for desserts was forced into it by wife and daughter. Incredible, what more can I say, all accompanied by a beautiful Malbec!

Looking like a pub on the outside (so expecting just decent pub grub) The Plough is a tardis of comfort, freindliness and far higher standard of food than we were expecting. Half a delicious lobster each, with salad and fries (nice delicate ones), followed by apple tarte tatin. Ingedients are locally sourced where ever possible and it shows in the taste. Normally known to be a critical diner, I amazed myself by being able to find fault with a single thing. A perfect evening out. We will be back.

British Pub serving Seasonal Kentish Produce.
This was a truly wonderful restaurant for our family's get-together. From welcoming us, to organizing a buffet that worked really well, the staff were superb! This is a really nicely set up old pub, lots of spaces for people to mingle. The food was really good - really nice appetizers, and for our lunch an herbed chicken and a fish pie with sides that were amazingly good! Not to mention the dessert :-) We really enjoyed ourselves and had a truly fantastic time, can't wait to do it again!

The Barrow House is a pub in Egerton, a village known for its community spirit as much as its magnificent views across the Weald, picturesque cottages and local history. Whether you fancy a quick snack, a light lunch or dinner with friends and family, the
The view from outside is great but step inside and I was disappointed. The character has been ripped out of the building and replaced with a modern style sadly. Only one ale on the pump when we visited. The loos are clean and the urinals are recycled kegs.

The ringlestone inn is a beautiful country pub, built in 1533, steeped in history and nestled in a quiet corner of the North Kent Downs. We are passionate about using traditional artisan techniques of curing, smoking & preserving, making all of our own ch
One of the best Sunday lunches we've had for a long time-this is our idea of the perfect pub-a lovely, atmospheric period building, well kept beers and without being pretentious an excellent Sunday lunch way,way above the "school dinners"we've had to endure in many pubs.Genial staff and landlady-we wish them every success. We shall certainly return-if we can find it again (not easy!).

A traditional warm and friendly rustic pub in the heart of the Kent countryside that oozes in character with its exposed wood beams, hanging hops, log burner & inglenook fireplace. The George, as it is affectionately known, started life as a farm building
Had dinner here whilst staying at Hempstead house(see separate review) It's a lovely old pub/log fire /lovely gentle background music(Bobby vinton/everly brothers /dionne Warwick you get tge picture) We started, with warm bread olives and dip The bread was fresh from oven and olives proper ones (kalamarta probably) partner had squid and, whitebait. I had the mussels in ale both very nice. Main course was stuffed chix breast and lamb and mint suet pudding with mash and veg. All cooked perfectly and the accompanying gravy was properly reduced and flavoured no bisto here!! Finished with spotted dick and custard. The waitress was extremely friendly and competent I thoroughly recommend here for a high quality reasonably priced dinner in lovely surroundings. And will be back for sure

There's nothing taboo about good food, so The Dirty Habit pub restaurant in Hollingbourne near Maidstone is perhaps misleadingly named. Of course the name actually refers to the origins of this historic building on the famed Pilgrims Way, close to the Nor
An excellent 3-course lunch on a blustery autumn day - service was excellent, menu was tempting and wide-ranging, food was superb. Particular highlights were scallops with caramelised roast apple; whole plaice and a perfect autumn blackberry cheesecake. Colorful salads with fresh Kent produce and some inspired choices of dinnerware set everything off visually. Excellent all round. Thanks very much for feeding back to us. We will pass onto the team.
