And lovely staff who were so accommodating with gluten free food. I have coeliac disease and they showed a total understanding that its just a little allergy but very serious. I had the roast chicken and some wonderful gin. My friend had the roast beef. Enormous servings and it was lovely to sit on the sunshine in a lovely garden. Good Afternoon ikjm,Many thanks for your amazing review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your visit, and that you found the food so amazing! The Hare and Hounds in Claygate is a lovely friendly village pub, offering great English and French food, ale and wine. We have a wonderful outdoor dining terrace, safe family garden. Our dining room also makes the perfect Private room for special occasio
Nice Sunday roast, everything was delicious. Only thing Iâd say that disappointed us was our starters that seemed to be bought in, not made on site. Mozzarella sticks in particular seemed like something youâd get in McDonaldâs. But service was efficient, our large dog was very welcome and Sunday lunch set menu a reasonable price. Hi Nanny10418Thank you for your lovely comments. The Mozzarella sticks were brought back briefly due to customer demand but I agree with you and they are now not available or on the menu except on request by those that enjoy them.hope to see you again soon.Kind regardsNick

Now called The Six. This place need a refurb and it has been done to a very high standard. Now closer to fine dining than the pub grub of before. Some evidence of teething problems and staff learning the ropes but all in a nice friendly and professional manner. The menu is an interesting one and executed quite well but...We asked staff about Vegan options. Not only are there none but staff didn't seem to understand what a vegan meal entailed. They struggled and suggested the notion that fish would be fine or "we do one of the meat based dishes and subtract the meat".Hopefully in time a vegan option or 2 will appear on the menu and we will return.

We are a family run pub, situated in the beautiful heart of Teddington next to the train station. We have transformed the bar into a cosy area for casual dining and drinking with a restored 80 seater dining room upstairs. We have an extensive menu, rangin
First impression from outside is that this is just another back street pub, located next to Tedding railway station. When I made my reservation, I was told that only downstairs tables were available; significant only because I later found that the upstairs is slightly nicer than the downstairs. Not a problem. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Quick service with a smile. Very clean pub, light and airy. So before the food arrived I was ready to ready to rate this place 3/5. Then the food arrived, and my rating went from 3/5 to 5/5.They served probably the nicest Sunday roast I have ever seen. Generous portions of top quality food, expertly cooked, beautifully presented. Just delicious. I've not been a fan of creamed cabbage before, but now I am if it's how they serve it. Parsnips superb - delicious coating. If my life depended on finding something negative to say about the meal, the best I could do is suggest that the gravy could be slightly thicker, but even that is so subjective as to not really count. Prices vary slightly with the meat chosen (lamb, beef, chicken, pork), but all are under £15 per plate at time of writing. Great value. If your entire party want the same meat, you could choose their Sunday Roast Sharing Board, which makes sense for 3 people. A good range of desserts is offered, although none were diabetic friendly otherwise I might have had one. This is a complaint I will be using more often often on TA, because desserts for diabetics are rare but no more difficult that mains for vegetarians. I did have a coffee though and that was excellent. Summary: Well above average food for average prices. The Railway is a Great British gem.Footnote: Thanks to previous TripAdvisor reviewers for rating this to catch my attention.

This is very much a Victorian purpose built pub, but its roots are somewhat older. The original Teddington King's Head dates back to 1689, the time of William III. Maybe it's the history of the building that gives the pub its appeal or it could be Polly a

Had a lovely evening in the sun in the terrace area at the back. We visited just for drinks and enjoyed a few gin and tonics, then decided to get some food too. Our order was pretty random but we were glad we ordered what we did - baked Camembert, pork bites and a side of mash and gravy. All of them were very tasty but we were not so keen on the chutney being mixed in with the cheese so asked for more on the side but it was very sweet. There was not enough bread with it either but the staff were really good about bringing more. Overall, a nice spot for drinks or food. A little expensive and dark inside but a nice pub in a good location. Hi,Many thanks for taking the time to write your review and we all delighted that you enjoyed your evening in the sunshine with a bite to eat.We hope you will visit us again soon.Regards,Oliver
