We enjoyed two nights stay at the Pear Tree, on arrival you feel yourself relax, get out your book and enjoy a G and T. Friendly staff who were always helpful and professional. The menu is great and gluten free (which I need) choices are extensive, with the kitchen happy to adapt to suit. Rooms are tastefully decorated and we really enjoyed having patio doors to a small private garden space next to the wooded area. Squirrels and bird life in abundance. But the room was smaller than expected, especially the bathroom where you have to think to shut the door to access the loo.

The food all seemed freshly prepared and presented, but without the "Gastro" price.A delicious chicken and leak pie, chips and salad. A large slice of Stilton and Broccoli quich with chips and salad. Both under £10.A good choice of Real ales, wines etc.,A chalk board with a variety of daily specials for mains and sweets .Very friendly staff, nice pub feel and dog friendly. Great location within 200m from the picturesque canal.If you're in the area, this pub is definitely worth a visit

Lovely lunch here on Friday. Excellent food with prompt friendly service. I had the Somerset Reuben sandwich which I can recommend. The beef dripping chips as a side order were delicious.
