Charming Building in a new decor, the Chateau du Bost welcomes you to Bellerives/Allier in a refined and elegant setting for a friendly and relaxing break. A fine and expressive cuisine around seasonal products and organic vegetables from the farm model a
The service in the restaurant was prompt, efficient and pleasant. The Maitre D was most helpful in suggesting a red wine for my wifes fish. We had an excellent meal; yes, the choice is small, but it was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Foie gras starters, succulent filo wrapped salmon, perfect and very good Ravioles aux langoustines. An astonishing and succulent cheese selection. My wife had a lemon tart for desert , that was good but not excellent. The Maitre D charged us for a half bottle of very good local red, i ve forgotten the name, even though the long wine list has no half bottles, Breakfast was good, a choice of excellent local cheese, jams, hams and very good bread indeed. Yogurt was sweetened, and all the cereals were sweet kiddie style. Coffee again was very good indeed. Lots of choices of teas.Admittedly we had booked a basic room, but it was tiny and cramped, so I banged my head on the sloping roof. No bedside lights, the fridge was off when we arrived and a rather filthy rust mark of a can of coke in the fridge. Broken light, that was promptly replaced. Bathroom small, neat and clean.More of a possible problem, the lift does not reach the second floor, and no one offered help with the suitcases. This is a very good restaurant with rooms, but its an excellent restaurant. If you do stay here, either book a larger room or be prepared for very cramped sleeping quarters.

The menu is pretty limited but the food's delicious. I chose a very simple dish : skewered chicken (brochettes de poulet) and it was heavenly. They had skewered large pieces of chicken with chorizo sausage the combination was simply superb. As sides, there were a few extremely crispy onion rings (at least I thought they were onion), half a grilled tomato, some other julienned grilled veggies, oh and a little colander filled with fresh french fries. The dessert was ok, I chose a simple chocolate dessert and though it was supposed to be "moelleux" (soft on the inside) I didn't think it was really soft. But all in all, I really enjoyed the meal. The staff is very nice, everyone's smiling, willing to explain what is what before you order. And I didn't think it took them very long to serve although the place was quite packed last weekend (July 2016). But you do need to reserve in advance.

Went to Brasserie du Casino as recommended by our hotel. No issue in securing a table without reservation but it got quite busy around 8:30 pm. Service was very good and attentive. Food was excellent, at least all the dishes we tried and found the price to be reasonable for the quality of dishes. Overall a very pleasant experience in Vichy.

We do speak english and are able to serve right.
One of the most memorable meal I have had in France. I love the decor, the food was very interesting and very tasty. The front of house man is a real charmer and have great English skills! Will be back again. Do recommend it highly. X
