Kelp Cafe is an artisanal cafe selling sit down as well as light take away meals (Breakfast/lunch). We have limited seating but lots to offer. Good WiFi, great leaf teas, coffees, Lassies, Smoothies and beautiful artisanal Cakeâs. We cater for Vegans and V
As new residents in Simon's Town, we've tried all the Cafés in the area. Kelp Cafe comes out clearly on top of the heap. Excellent coffees and exquisite teas, exceptional breakfasts and lunches (don't head out on a hike without taking along one of their signature sandwiches), Vegan and Vegetarian offerings, locally sourced, organic, along with a varying array of unique offerings. And, if that's not enough, the Café also hosts a rigging shop, with all sorts of interesting nautical happenings. Their motto is Pay It Forward, as the sign on the wall attests. They live up to their motto by bringing in inexperienced locals, who soon become creative and productive baristas and wait staff. Keep an eye out for special dessert offerings by the pastry chef Natalia, whose creations are always featured here.

Cape Town's quirkiest intimate dinner theatre nestled inside the old Dutch Reformed church in Kalk Bay. The restaurant is filled with personality, serving excellent pre-show dinners and the theatre boasts world class cabaret, music and comedy shows. Kalk
Our second visit to this delightful theatre that once was a church. The architect who designed the conversion got it spot on. Intimate stage setting (holds c.80) and you are very close to the actors. This time we were treated to âBijouâ, a crazy comedy that had you dissolved in laughter the whole way thruâ! How they think up this stuff I just donât know ..save to say it was a mix of brilliantly funny acts interspersed with some great songs and mesmeric dancing. The whole show was flawlessly performed ..great audience too that the cast must have appreciated. We bought a package to include dinner beforehand (upstairs above the stage) ..the fayre and service is of high quality. We had a fabulous evening and canât wait to go again when next in the area.

Having read the very good reviews for this restaurant, myself and a group of 5 friends had dinner here on a Saturday evening. As the prices were what one would expect to pay in an upmarket restaurant, our expectations were high. The maitre d raved about the mussel starter - which we all had. It reminded me of those frozen crumbed mussels one finds in the freezer section of any supermarket. We complained that they were greasy and the only comment we got was "I'll tell chef. It was not mentioned again. The kingklip at R180 wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. There didn't seem to be any effort at presentation and as the plate was rather small the food was just unceremoniously plonked on it. I got the distinct impression that this was an amateur cook rather than a trained chef. The dessert was nice but certainly not fine dining.I would not rush back to this restaurant . R700 per couple excluding wine
