Reviews on Fusion food in Santo Domingo, Santo Domingo Province, Caribbean. Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic and a UNESCO world heritage site, is the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Americas and one of the most populous cities in the Caribbean. The city is a mix of old world charm and modern Latin flair. Its medieval palaces and fortresses mix with nightlife and shopping to rival any modern city in the world. You'll find pristine beaches and hidden gems like a salsa/merengue club set inside a huge underground cave.

Tuesday 16th April and this restaurant was the pre-arranged lunch stop on our Tour of Santo Domingo. The resturant is situated a short walk down some steps from the Palacio Virreinal de Diego Colón. As we entered the resturant we were greeted by a number of staff dressed in traditional costumes, we did see them again after our meal. The restaurant was rather busy, a popular resturant with a number of tours stopping here for lunch. We climbed the well trodden tiled and wooden stairs to the first floor where there was a seating and dining area reserved exclusively for Tui guests, as there was 24 of us it was not overcrowded and we had room to spread out. There was a buffet style meal awaiting us there was a wide variery of food on offer, there were salads, chicken, beef, pork and fish dishes along with vegetable dishes, soup, breads and traditional rice and beans. The best part of the meal was the soup, there were some good bits, some chewey bits and some strange tasting bits. Our Guide was on hand to explain what everything was. There was fruit salad, some sort of caramel dish and a coconut dish for dessert. We were offered a drink, soft drinks and wine were included, don't think anyone got a second drink. Beers had to be paid for, a small bottle was $4 (US).Once our meals were finished the staff in the traditional costumes appeared and performed some traditional dances, not convinced they were enjoying themselves.

International Food Restaurant, Caribbean, Dominican, Venezuelan, our excellent menu has a variety of delicious dishes! We will wait for you!!
Shocked to find good sushi our first night in Santo Domingo. Learned the next day that the restaurant had literally opened the previous day. Yay for finding something new. Since then we've been back a dozen times... so it's good :DSushi is mostly rolls, including the popular traditional rolls plus some interesting locally inspired stuff like a Platano Roll (salmon, plantain, avocado and cream cheese). The Japanese food is mostly Yaki noodles. With some staff from Venezuela they have a few Venezuelan dishes for breakfast, namely arepas and cachapas. I'm seriously in love with the arepa habichuelas con plátano y queso as a delicious vegetarian breakfast sandwich.

Just back from our last meal on the island and...wow. perfect in so many ways. Read some reviews that were not good--mainly service and price. Our service was awesome-Gracias Manuel (Larry!). Dinner was expensive by DR standards but well worth it. We had drinks, apple/shrimp app, theee dinners and a dessert for $6000 DP. Could not eat this well in the US for that amount! Steak was perfect for son and I. Wife had curry shrimp. All was great! Totally recommend for special dinner!

Filigrana Restaurant is based on a fusion of Mediterranean cuisine with the best touches of local cuisine. Ideal place where you can enjoy an exquisite culinary experience with friends, as a couple or where to close your most important business. Tasting a
From the cocktails, appetizers and main course, this is without a doubt the worst food I've had for such a hefty price. The appetizers were soggy and salted. I ordered a shrimp and octopus risotto which tasted old and reheated many times. But the worst part was the price. We were a party of 3 and only had 2 pina coladas and 3 beers, a risotto and 2 steaks and paid almost RD$10,000 (US$192.00) - for bad food!!! Don't go to this restaurant!!Dear Jofana2018,Thank you very much for your evaluation.
