This stop was included in our tour. It is on the second floor of the Mares Restaurant and they call it The Garden Restaurant. We had chicken with rice and fruit salad for dessert. You could go back as much as you wanted. I wish I had that chicken recipe. Something I had never tasted before. After, we had the opportunity to visit the gardens on the premises and also meet the well-known painter Rafy Vasquez in his house where you can appreciate some of his work.

This restaurant stop was predetermined as part of a day tour. I am glad this was the stop for us. The restaurant is in a lovely old house that faces a town square. The exterior is bright and welcoming. The staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The food was fresh and flavourful (we were served: a chef salad with a clear vinaigrette that had such yummy flavour; chunks of chicken in a delicate cream sauce accompanied by white rice with red bean sauce; dessert was sweet potato with chocolate drizzle---it did not have an orange colour of the North American sweet potato but seemed the colour & texture of apple sauce). Since the meal was included in the tour, I really do not know the price.

Iâve been in this restaurant 4 times already, I really love the great service they have and quality of food and drinks. When I heard they changed their chef I was scared, but the new one if as good (or even better) than the previous, he actually came to our table and told us his plans, he is an excellent chef and very friendly, his name is Vicente.Their cocktails are excellent too, I recommend their Citric Gin Tonic with Bombay Sapphire. And for meals their Grilled Octopus, Chefâs Nachos and tostones.
