This pleasant and atmospheric restaurant is just 2 blocks off the main square. It offers a traditional regional food with a modern twist. Service is efficient. The place is nicely decorated. As part of the Nanni bodega their (good) wines are served there at a very reasonable price. The best place we tried in Cafayate. No problem and very recommendable.

Looking for a nice restaurant close to our hotel, and I stumbled across Bartz. What a find! Do drop in whenever you get a chance. We shared the 9 course menu, and a Salta Malbec, recommended by our really attentive waiter.

We went for dinner and had a great meal with an appetizer . I chose a salad with avocado and poached egg - delicious . My husband had a peanut soup that he really liked . I had a rice and vegetable wok that was very good . The waiter offered us some different wines to taste (free of charge )which was really nice . They also gave us a pumpkin soup in a tiny glass and a olive tapenade just for starters which was very neat . The setting is great fun and have some turquoise animal heads on the wall , reminding me of Georgia OâKeeffe . It was not crowded when we were there at around 8.30 pm . We really enjoyed it and I definitely would go again . So I highly recommend it . Our waiter spoke English which helps too .

We were staying in the Elajandro I hotel and were given two free glasses of wine so we wandered down to the Wine Bar. We noticed that the El Meson restaurant shared the same space as the wine bar, so we asked for the menu. They were happy to serve us restaurant food in the wine bar. I ordered Paco, which is a Piraña like fish. It was covered with a fennel sauce, which was delicious. First time I had Paco and it has become one of my favorite fish meals. My partner had the trout which was well cooked, but had some parts which were a little salty. As if the chef had sprinkled some salt before serving. Some may like it that way though. Overall, highly recommended and we plan on coming back.

Superb atmosphere in a nice location in the city centre, in the same building as Hotel Salta. Food is nice, portions huge and we got excellent service from the very friendly waiter Charly. No menus in English, but thankfully he spoke good English so he could help us translate. Kamaleone, good morning. I want to thank you for your kinds words and for take your time to write about us. What a gem! We ordered French and we were rewarded. Instead of a slab of beefsteak, Argentine-style we chose beef bourgogne. Two big balls of the tastiest beef appeared, plenty for two of us to share. We also shared scalloped potatoes or in French, pommes dauphinoises. It was incredible: substantial but not too rich. The green salad and pear tart (tarte tatin) with vanilla ice cream were just right. It has a huge list of red wines organized by winery. I took a stab at a malbec which cost about $15 USD. Aftet 30 minutes of breathing it matched what a 75 euro bordeaux would cost in Paris. The place is really cute with all menus on chalkboards. We want to return soon to try other items on this creative menu.Thank you very much for your words, you are very kind, we wait for you soon.
