Where to eat Italian food in Longueuil: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Jellyfish is a large, bustling downtown restaurant with a lively atmosphere. The décor is modern, but the extensive glass, ultra-high ceilings and bar made it noisy and not the place for quiet conversation. The menu is very inventive, and the dishes can be eaten individually or shared tapas-style. We particularly enjoyed sharing various crudos, the heirloom tomatoes carpaccio and the grilled halibut. The wine list was extensive and eclectic. The specialty cocktails were inventive and enjoyable. Overall, it was definitely a fun experience that we would repeat if we return to Montreal.

We dined at Vertige on our recent trip to Montreal. I read hundreds of reviews to find something local an interesting. Success. Vertige offers a great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff. An innovative menu based on traditional dishes. We started with the rice balls, foigras and Beet Salad. All well prepares and wonderful. Entrees of Boulibase and Duck confeit were very nicely executed rich and delicious. Desert was an lovely vanilla Creme Brulee. Over all the dining experience was really good and we felt it to be a good value.

Nice French bistro just off Rue Sherbrooke. Great quality and innovative dishes. Good service, but the space is small. BYOB. Excellent escargot in risotto. Wonderful fresh bread. Duck breast was well cooked and seasoned. Received horse on the tasting menu. Nicely cooked and different. Palate cleansers were loaded with brandy. Butternut squash soup was very good on a cold Montreal night.

I looked on Trip Advisor to find a nice place to take my 97 year old Mother-in-Law and her grand-daughter out for a treat before we went to the Botanical Gardens. We all had the Brunch Specials, The Omelette, "Huevos Rancheros" and the Matane shrimp roll. The service was very friendly and while we were all speaking in French, the waitress broke into perfect English for about 15 seconds to describe how a dish was prepared then back into French to take the rest of our order. Grandma decided to have a glass of wine with her meal and the recommended white was greatly appreciated. I changed my order to the omelette after my guest asked for a description of the two egg centric dishes on offer. The Omelette; mozzarella, chanterelles, pesto, pickled beans dish was served on a slate with potatoes which very much seemed like the potato latkes of my Montreal childhood. A big meal â filling â and very delicious too.Grandma dug into a very generous shrimp roll with the type of frites that usually come with steak-frites. Grand daughter stated that the "Huevos Rancheros" were excellent and she was surprised at how generous a potion she received. I started with a coffee along with grand-daughter. It was terrible and grand-daughter said she'd had worse. On the whole a great meal to bolster our energies before making an afternoon at the Botanical Gardens.
