My wife had a halibut main with caper sauce that she adored, I had goujons of cod that were ok, bad choice by me rather than anything elseGreat vibe as always, good service, back soon I'm sure

New a la carte restaurant with a French twist, using local and Irish fresh products.
We visited Dan Phils to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary on the 18th July. The food is excellent and well worth the visit. All the dishes are prepared from scratch inhouse by the chef, who is also the proprietor. The menu changes daily and is dependent on what is fresh at the market and in season. The fish dishes in particular were creative and tasted superb. All the girls in the party would recommend the cocktails, these were so good they visited a second night just to make sure they were as good as the first. The staff are excellent and understand what components are in every dish. As l have a severe egg allergy this was reassuring and made the dining experience very enjoyable. We booked the restaurant prior to it officially opening for the season. What we didn't realise was that it was officially closed on a Tuesday. Rather than cancel the booking the proprietor opened the restaurant just for us. We cannot thank him enough for his gesture but we can recommend that if your in Ballylicky you must dine at Dan Phils, you won't be disappointed. Definitely worth a return visit or two. Thank you for your review Mike,It was a pleasure meeting you and your family and i want to thank you again for choosing to dine with us and i am happy you enjoyed you experience at Dan Phils restaurant.Kind regards,Chris.

Had a takeaway from here and it was gorgeous. Generous portions and really friendly staff. The menu is not overburdened but has all the Asian classics.
