We spent 4 weeks in Puerto Viejo and this soon became our favourite spot for an evening drink. Location right on the beach is perfect, and the service is excellent. The house wines in particular were good quality and value. Andrea always took really good care of us :)

Hubby and I enjoyed dinner, and a take-out lunch, at Banana Azul in July when we rented a house nearby on Playa Negra Beach (reviewed separately) and it was recommended by the owners. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, great food, friendly service, free wifi, and reasonable prices. It also had a (free) locked and fenced parking area. We had sandwiches for lunch and for dinner, I had lasagna and hubby had mahi mahi. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meals. We also enjoyed the soup and salad buffet at dinner. The total bill for dinner was about $50 and they accepted credit cards. The gardens are lovely and we returned during the day to walk through and enjoy the grounds more fully in the daylight. We enjoyed the koi pond that stretches the length of the dining area with its many fish and turtles. The garden had beautiful paths, plants, and trees. The beach area also looked beautiful, although we didnât relax there. We recommend dining at Banana Azul and will return when we visit Puerto Viejo in the future!*Thank you for reading my review! I really enjoy stopping by Noa Bar, alone or with friends! The spot is beautiful, quiet, and private. Surprisingly, it doesn't cost anything to go in (with the expectation that you'll buy a drink or something to snack on). I love the smoothies and the spring rolls! Prices are pretty standard. A friend and I were walking by flip flops one night and smelled the grill it was a Friday night and on the grill was fresh big chunks of grilled pork, pineapple, fish ... you name it they were grilling it and it's fresh from here. Add to the wonderful food great service by friendly people and the outside setting it's quite relaxing so you have a good night out --don't miss it. They Grill every Friday and Saturday evening.Cleo! Ate here one night, atmosphere and setting was great, along with the cocktails but food not so.Mahi-mahi overcooked and seafood pasta had both undercooked or dead mussels (all closed) and a very thin watery sauce.

Had a small dinner yesterday , waiter was polite and understanding. Had to return back the Mohito, because of misunderstanding, and the Mohito was replaced, No question asked.Ordered their special Budha Tikos, and vegetarian homous dish. Nice food.At the end they gave us free pinnacolada, on the house.Nice live music, while eating. Wish there was a nice table to sit.

Surprisingly high-quality cuisine. Fresh catch of the day fish and sea fruit. Each dish with its distinct flavor. Beautiful presentation. The staff is very attent and gives lengthy explanations on ingredients of each suggestion. We were surprised to find such high quality gastronomy at such a relaxed and easy going place. If and when we are back we shall certainly return here.

Got a tip on this place and told to get the butter chicken if on the menu. It was, I got, I loved! HAd apps, dinner, desert and bottle of wine for wife and I and bill $70. Well worth it.

Lovely ambience and good service, however, was I disappointed with my meal of sauteed curried vegetables. It had a bland, burnt and confusing flavour. Not really sure what was supposed to be going on with the flavours. My partner enjoyed his pasta, so maybe I just ordered the wrong meal. However, considering the high price of the meals I did expect better.
