We have been coming to empuriabrava for many years and have seen some of our favourite restaurants closed. This was a last minute trip advisor pick and we were amazed with the restaurant we had found. We had the gastro and chef menu and the food was outstanding. I cant believe we had not found this place last year and have already planned a second visit back before we go home. We were also surprised at how reasonably priced our meal was and would definately recommend this restaurant to others. Well done Essencia!

The restaurant opens at 7.30 in the evening and although we are into September we booked in advance (English spoken). Arriving we were pleased we had as those without reservations were kept waiting until all those with reservations had been seated. This is understandable given that it is a large restaurant and there needs to be some "flow" to enable the kitchen to cope. I echo previous comments - excellent value, good service and a very pleasant atmosphere. If going al la carte I would recommend sharing a starter as they are typically very large. Deserts are traditional Spanish. Very enjoyable - will return

we ate the gastronomic menu (gazpacho, truffle and foie risotto, fish, dessert) and were so happy for every course. The risotto was truly remarkable. The terrace seating was perfect for lunch under the carefully manicured shade trees. The wine was not local emporda wine but it was from catalonia and very good. We had such a nice lunch we ended up drinking the whole bottle of wine

We stumbled across this restaurant in Roses old town. The food is excellent and freshly cooked. The menu changes daily dependant on the food available and is very inventive. Fatima who served us was fabulous, she made us feel at home and made delicious white and red sangria. The chef came along to check we were enjoying the food which is a great touch. The whole of the menu was delicious. Make sure you go for dinner if your in Roses, we will certainly be going back.
