This restaurant is in a lovely location near the church.Good food in general and really first class pizza and pasta in particular. So no problems with the food - the opposite in fact. You wonât easily find better Italian food elsewhere and itâs this that stops this being a 3* review. The problem is with the service. They are clearly understaffed. On our first visit my second beer didnât show up. I wasnât too bothered and the lady (solitary - as far as I could see it was only one person plus occasional help from the chef running front of house) apologised and I wasnât too bothered. On the second visit despite being first to arrive that evening our drinks turned up 35 minutes after we arrived. Thatâs just poor. How hard can it be to serve 3 drinks (beer, coke and Orangina)? Our food arrived immediately after - almost like âoh, their foodâs ready weâd better get their drinks out nowâ. In contrast a couple who arrived 10 minutes after us had their drinks 15 minutes before we did. Itâs not a massive problem and the lady is very pleasant but it does need to be addressed.Note that this restaurant has a slightly idiosyncratic 19.15 opening time, and it seems to cause consternation should you arrive only a few minutes before that.In summary:+ Great tasting food, especially Italian dishes+ Fairly reasonable prices+ Varied and interesting menu- Service slow and inattentiveKey question: Would I eat here again?Probably

We've been regulars at this classy and upscale cheese and wine shop / bar since it opened. It overlooks the market place in Villereal, which is a charming medieval village in the Dordogne. We love the cheese and cold meat platters. Delicious. The wine selections are great too and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Crêperie Restaurant située dans un village classé "plus joli village de France "â¦. Spécialités régionales dans un cadre Vintage et avec une cuisine Maison...
I've just moved to VIllereal and am in the process of trying the different restaurants there. I had not been to Le Boudoir before so today was the time to check it out for lunch.I was pleasantly surprised walking in at how charming it is. Nicely decorated with a slightly vintage feeling - sort of the "shabby chic" type of decor. I was quickly seated and given the menus. It was my impression they only did galettes and crepes but there are many more options - including a daily menu for 12.90 euros, which is a VERY good deal. I chose the menu, which started with a simple soup (tomato with vermicelli), followed by a choice of appetizers: a cheese pastry or duck pate'. I went for the cheese pastry, which was very nice. For main courses there were three choices: "colombo de porc," which, I have to admit, I had not heard of before (but now, of course, I know what it is after looking it up online); bavette steak with frites; and their "galette complete" - a buckwheat crepe with cheese, ham and mushrooms (I asked to have the egg added to it). I decided not to have dessert, but there was a nice selection of about five choices. The galette was very tasty and one of the best I've had here in my area of France. I arrived just after 12 pm and was the first customer, but the place quickly filled up so it's obviously a favorite among the locals.I will very definitely be back soon!

On my road journey through the Dordogne I stopped into Villereal, a bastide town with loads of character. After spending the late morning strolling around the town, I came across this restaurant. Although early for lunch by French standards (1130), the restaurant seemed to be open for business. The menu was written on the chalkboard outside and the daily special - a foie gras and truffle omelet with salad and desert - was the perfect choice for me. The restaurant is run solely by a talented and charming woman chef. Once seated she brought out the menu chalkboard and I placed my order. She then went back to the kitchen to prepare my omelet. A short while later my meal was in front of me. It was one of the best omelets I've ever had in a restaurant, perfectly cooked and accompanied by a salad topped with garden-fresh stir-fried vegetables. Absolutely top-notch. Strawberries were in season during that time and for dessert I was given a heaping helping topped by whipped cream. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Au Gourmet to anyone visiting the area. Although there are other restaurant options in Villereal, I know I would visit here again.

Restaurant and Pizzeria Since 1989 Home made Regional and italian Specialities Grilled meats . Great choise of Salads. Home made desserts. Dish of the day. Restaurant and veranda climatised( Summer and winter) Shaded Terraces .Foggers
Good menu choices, and I'd agree with others, the garlic bread pizza is amazing. Glad I opted for that. My main course veal was quite well done. I'd consider it over cooked, but then I like meat rare/medium, so perhaps the regular customers here appreciate their meat cooking for longer. We did have to wait a while for service, but then the place was very busy, so I don't mind that. Service was very friendly though. The chocolate mousse dessert was heavenly! If you love your chocolate, then this is a must!

In addition to coffee and drinks served inside and out depending on circumstances, the lunchtime menu provides a good, relatively inexpensive meal with daily change. The service is cheerful and efficient, the menu well-chosen and the food well-cooked. Le Moderne closes at 2000 on Mondays. The central position on the Square is ideal.

La Dolce vita is a little restaurant in Villeréal, an old village. Fresh products and home made, we love cooking and it's a very lovely place....
We enjoyed seeing our friends but the food and service were average at this family run eatery in the pretty village of Villeréal.The amuse Bouche were potato balls with sauce. Completely tasteless! The starter most of us chose was a fajita wrap with cheese and peppers. It was edible but not exciting. Think Pret A Manger lunch wraps and not fine dining! I then had white fish with risotto and a piece of asparagus. The risotto was like 1970âs British boarding school rice pudding. The fish was unremarkable and tasteless but edible. I was irritated that that we had to order desserts or cheese at the same time as ordering our starter and main course. One doesnât always know what one wants at that stage.Service was cold but efficient without a hint of humour or engagement.

We were recommended "The Holy Pig" by friends who live locally, and we were not disappointed. Every course from the fixed menu - there were 5 of them - was excellent with a full range of flavours to positively savour. Our final words regard the hosts who were both charming and provided the highest level of service, timing each course to perfection. All in all a fabulous meal at a great location with very friendly and excellent hosts.
