This small place is definitely worth visiting. Their fresh crepes (sweet as well as 'sour') are excellent and they also offer a range of great salads. But whatever you order, don't forget two things:- Try some of their absolutely great ciders and- Leave room for dessert (crepe, of course).

Simply wonderful! The food, the ambience, the location, the service.... the quintessential small town France gourmet meal experience where you least expect to find it (in a tiny church). It certainly was not cheap but given the experience it was excellent value for money. Can't recommend it enough. Best darn steak in all of France. Most romantic meal of our entire trip.

This place has completely turned itself around. We have visited in both winter and summer, and on warm summers evening the place truly comes into its own, sitting on the terrace eating the very best of light, delicate dishes, friendly service and fine wines. Happy to return to this over and over again, and recommend it to friends.Dear Mrs & Mr Todd, One more time, it had been a pleasure to welcoming you back in our gastronomic restaurant. We can't wait to see you again, during your next trip in France at the end of the summer :-)Sincerely,Charlotte G

Something I am always looking for, simple perfect one man service and one lady in the kitchen. Not much appealing building and parking the size of hankerchief (a lerge one few steps from here). But inside nice patio under blossominh wistaria we found a top class french local cuisine. Wes tarted with Suze as aperitif, the lunch menu started with excellent green garlic soup (a large bowl of thick and fresh soup was given on the table). The starters were very inventive, foie gras entier was melting on the palate, for the main dishes we had young duck on oranges, veal on Muscat de Beaumes de Venise with rice and excellent tongue de boeuf with sauce from capari and little sour gherkins. Vegetable were large pieces or artichocs filled with fresn goat cheese and large round slices of tomate baked with green herbs. Local cheese were the next item , and desserts came in the end, baba au rhum was delicious, and home made ice sreams /mango and coconut, vanilla and anothe fruit I cannot remember). Really difficult to eat all. Local rosé and red wines, some coffees. All together approx 35 EUR per head. But please for full menu cont more than 2 hours. 5 stars with regard to rurality, do not expect haute suisine, but in the league a top example.

La Grange de Vers is a café and wine bar located on the central square in Vers Pont du Gard. Our coffee is freshly roasted by one of our owners and our wines are local and organic from our favorite wineries. All of our baked goods are made in house with f
We visited on recommendation. Not sure If they could have been any less friendly. Felt very uncomfortable and our attempts to engage with the female owner were met with monosyllabic grunts. It became obvious that geniality was saved for locals/regulars. To the owner - Remember, as an American, you too were once a visitor. Shame you can't extend the welcome that you got in France. Hey ho - my advice, don't bother unless you already belong to the clique.

Our lodging host recommended this restaurant for a Monday night (restaurants in this area are closed several nights a week so check ahead and around!). We had a fantastic meal and enjoyed the food and service. That night we had the anchovy pesto, the poisson, a French "fish and chips" that night, the local cod dish (Balade de Moreu à aïoli), and a killer Gratin dauphin, super rich. The hostess was delightful and the server very engaging and helpful. The meal was delicious and a very good value; we ate another night at the place next door (outside seating; across the way restaurant) and paid as much for okay burgers. They do require reservations, so be sure to call ahead.

Staying in Uzès, we asked our favorite restaurateurs for their best recommendation for a really special Sunday night birthday dinner with four guests. Our other guests did the same research where they were staying. The fact that many places are closed Sunday night added complexitiy to the problem. Both of us got the same answer: lâAmphitryon in Castillon du Gard, about 20 minutes outside Uzès. We were thrilled with the result. Our host, Mario Monterroso, and chef Stéphane Goudet, have been developing the menu and the restaurant since 1997. Attentive but not omnipresent, Mario appeared at the moment we had questions but let us enjoy the experience. These are delicate plates. The menu has two basic choices: starter, one or two plates and dessert.I had the Tartare de Thon Sashimi to commence, followed by the Filet de Taureau Poélé and a fantastic chocolate dessert, all with a very intense and tasty Syrah. My lady began with Gambas, then Coquilles de St.- Jacques a la Plancha and a black and white chocolate dessert with the same wine.We laughed a lot. Mario is so charming and gregarious that he added a lot to our experience on this beautiful evening.

We had a nice romantic dinner in this former train station âLa petite gareâ which has been nicely redecorated. The terrace is next to the railway line which was discontinued (lovely big trees next to the railway route). The dishes are of somewhat varying quality but overall quite tasty. Service is good and friendly too. A nice spot for a romantic summertime dinner.

This café is charming. Huge variety of salads, tartines, tartes, moules and pizzas. Service is fast and effective, waiters can have a lot of personality in an aggressive but not off-putting sense. Great wines and beers, good place to hang out with friends.merci pour votre venue au vieux café,et merci pour votre commentaire â¦â¦ mais pour info nous n'avons pas de "moules " à la carte !un large choix de bières à la pression , en bouteilles, pour les amateurs de bonnes bières â¦et concernant le serveur je vais faire ma petite enquête â¦..bon séjour en France
