Really good food and atmosphere. Not fancy stuff but good tasty local dishes. Staff really friendly. A little bit smoky (not cigarette smoke but smoke from grills) but we had a really good relaxing evening. Would definitely go back next time we're in Valloire.

Had a great lunch recently at the Christiana. Opted for a set lunch menu with a sauted foie gras that was just divine. a lavaret fish from the Bourget lake, the cooking was perfect with a nice sauce and sautéed mushroom and thinly shredded veggies. to finish a very refreshing pineapple carpaccio with Ginger. try the local wines especially the king of savoie wines: the Chignin-bergeron from Quenard.Excellent and attentive service. definitely a restaurant not to miss when in Valloire.

We come to Valloire every summer and winter and following a disappointing meal several years ago we have boycotted this restaurant. We decided to see if we were too harsh and were rewarded with an excellent meal. None of us had starters.I had the Saint Jacques and was a little miffed when it arrived because the other 3 had chosen the tagliata of Angus beef. My dish was twitchy compared to the beef. But the Saint Jacques were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious, the Thai rice was a little dry but again very tasty. My companions took pity on my small dish and fed me mouthfuls of beef which was succulent and tender. The best I have tasted recently. For dessert I took the chocolate and pear gateau with a crispy praline base and it was lovely.Great ambiance ,good wine and very good service has now made us forget about our boycott.202⬠for four

Great pizzas. Good alpine food. Salads and puddings really fresh and well prepared. Try the hot ginger drink which is especially welcome to warm your hands.Sunny terrace with spectacular views. The jaggy Aiguille Noire dominating the valley. On an easy blue piste so most skiers can access the restaurant.Belly full you put the skis back on to ski back down the valley round the gentle hairpin bends and life feels good.

The starters are big and if you did not work the slopes during the day, they might actually cover your calorie budget. We had the foie gras, the foie gras/smoked duck breast salad the ham/goat cheese salad and the onion soup - all very good. This was accompanied by a nice Savoir white. For mains I had the the duck breast - it was huge, well-cooked and tasty (the semi-option might be sufficient for most). My friends navigated other parts of the menu: The pave tended to be a bit overcooked. The sirloin was pig and not veal which was not indicated in the menu. This was also accompanied by a fine a local red. The bruscettas are meal-size. The desert selection is more than adequate, in options, size and taste. We ended up at around 300 Euro for 6 adults and an adolescent.

After climbing the Telegraph and the Galibier we were ready for a refuel and this seemed the perfect place.Right in the middle of Valloire with quite a small interior and a few tables outside but a perfect menu for hungry cyclists with BIG hot chicken & bacon baguettes and plenty of chips!!Very amiable staff with whom we had some cycling banter and also a chat with the locally stationed Foreign LegionnairesNot expensive at all.No frills.Perfect for a hungry cyclist or a hungry skier I would imagine.

Probably the most traditional restaurant of the Valloire (Galibier) valley. Located at 15 min from the centre of Valloire, the restaurant is established in an old building (probably a farm) showing various craftsmen tools used in the valley a long time ago. You will not have a very large selection of dishes (although there is an interesting variety) but those on the menu are really local and made with selected products of the region. We were warmly welcomed and if you talk with the boss you will learn some interesting things over the area.Maybe the price/quality is a little high.

You are unlikely to visit many places like this in Western Europe. More like the kitchen of a farmer. 20 covers approximately in a cosy atmosphere. Very attentive and pleasant owners. Was taken here by my French friend who is a regular. I was not disappointed. Interestingly, there is a cow staff in the next room, you can almost hear the "moos". That was a first for me.........bit 3rd world. The 4 course meal was excellent and home made. Very reasonably pricedThank you so much Will... It's a real pleasure to read you... We put a lot of love in our work and in our kitchen... Thanks again... Look forward to seeing you

Hidden behind the tourist office you will find this little gem of hospitality run by Sylvie and Franck. I've been here already with smaller and larger groups and all my guests did relish the time they could spend in the "Le Chalet des Saveurs". The dishes, cooked by Sylvie are delicious, beautifully arranged and perfectly prepared. The event of being here as a guest is a wonderful experience not only for the food. There is Franck, running the service in the restaurant. He brings professional attitude, service orientation, perfect communication skills and a kind of attentiveness to your table that is hard to find. We will come back. With the feeling of retiring to friends.

This place was very quiet when we arrived after a tour of fully booked restaurants.I had a cut of beef which was excellent and the rest of the family enjoyed their meals too.Service was very friendly.I think it is maybe overlooked by visitors and it deserves more customers
