Four of us went for a relaxed meal in the restaurants garden, the location being excellent given that it was shaded. We had a mix of starters - two moules gratinee which were good, one beignets de crevettes which was rated OK and a lightly cooked goats cheese with salad which was enjoyed.Moving to mains, the dorado one of us had was thoroughly enjoyed but unfortunately the 2 Angus and 1 pave steak, less so. Though the taste of each was not bad, all 3 were quite tough which detracted from the overall experience.Drinks were a mix of house wine by the glass and/or beer, there being no issue with these. The food is of course a key element of dining out but ambiance, the sound of people enjoying themselves and the waiting staff are also important and the Cafe des Artistes definitely scores on these. So overall, not the greatest meal on the night but sure to try again.

If you're looking for an elegant restaurant where you can dine in peaceful settings between vineyards and mountains... you're already there! Beautiful vaulted ceilings offer an intimate setting for dinners inside, or why not enjoy a relaxing dinner outsid
The dining area is comprised of several smaller rooms with plenty of space, thus some privacy and no crowding.Menu is limited but inspired and each course looks like a picture. A la carte is quite expensive but the daily Menu option with three courses is more affordable and usually very delicious. A tiny portion of Mis En Buche is offered, usually an excellent soup. Very well-prepared fillet, exquisite desserts, creative dishes, e.g., black risotto atop chestnut cream, topped with melt-in-the-mouth grilled foie gras, and slices of smoked duck. YUM! Thank you for your visit. The â¬27 menu is indeed really worth its price... a teaser for our guests to discover à la carte.Looking forward to welcoming you again, Best regards,Magalie Tonjum

I ate here last week and I paid the bill for all 4 guests as repayment of a favour so I was very much hoping for a good experience - and I was not disappointed. The village of Palau del Vidre is OK, but the old school building has been sympathetically restored and the old garden turned into an extension where we eat on this occasion. On a Friday night this large room was full of mainly couples. The young mainly female staff were friendly, efficient but not intrusive. Now the main event the food was good, and fair sized portions. Scallops were well cooked and interestingly presented. The octopus was an excellent dish. The deserts were equally enjoyed. The local reds have an excellent reputation, but we had white white and it was a revelation as it was so good. Will look it out, clearly they understand wine too.So whether to go or not. Yes on balance a really rounded experience. Not cheap but I'd rather save up and come here than get an ordinary meal for not that much less elsewhere. Really a well deserved 4.5*Merci beaucoup

Firstly, the restaurant is in a beautiful setting. The menus are great and we had some delicious food. The atmosphere was pretty lively and there was a good mix of locals and tourists. The restaurant has recently reopened for the season. Unfortunately, it was packed and there was only one waitress who was doing her very best to serve everyone and remain cheerful! Really there needed to be a couple of others supporting her. She dealt very well with my concern about coquilles saint Jacques which I felt were not fresh. No questions asked and an alternate provided. I would go back again.

We have been spending our summers in Laroque for many years and Les Enfants Terribles has become one of our favourite restaurants in the area. The food is consistently good - the fish and seafood are particularly recommended. Service is friendly and efficient but never rushed. The wines are local and well chosen (we were pleased to see Les Sorcieres from Clos de Fees). The house options are also good.Dining is outside in the summer. It is one of the few restaurants in the area to also have a nice ambiance when dining inside in the cooler months. Good for families or for a more romantic meal.

This little restaurant in St. Andre is a little gem in a region that does not have very good restaurants outside Perpignan. Too many restaurants where industrial food is warmed up and served at really high prices. This one though is different. The food is well prepared and both simple and inventive at the same time. Perfectly cooked fresh fish locally caught (the coast is near) , fine chicken and beef, (not the type you find at the supermarket), vegetables al dente etc. the service is unobtrusive and prompt. In the kitchen a chef (female) that exercises a perfectly mastered cuisine, obviously a schooled chef. I have eaten there a Friday night together with four other friends. All enjoyed their meal, the creme catalane with caramelized artichauts was very good like the rest of the food. Wine list with local wines. I look forward to the warm weather when one can eat in the lovely little garden..

In the center of the village of Sorède , a town house with exposed stone walls , decorated with original paintings. A simple and sensitive kitchen, homemade with fresh products, prices and great modesty . Pretty small regional winery, friendly service . R
An atmospheric little town and the restaurant is just off the main square where a rather desperate local band was wailing their version of various Beetle songs. Wouldn't have made the finals of X Factor. Not an enormous choice, perhaps five of each, starter, main & pud, but excellent value at 20 Euros for the three course menu. Food was good as was the pleasant service, with excellent English spoken.

Visiting some friends in Laroque we booked in for Sunday lunch with our host. We were greeted to the tasteful dining room overlooking the garden and were delighted by a delicious amuse bouche of cream of courgette with mussels. For the starter I had foie gras which is made by the chef on site, this was delicious served with fig purée and was complemented by the rose wine recommended by the owner. For main I decided on the sword fish which was very well cooked and presented with seasonal vegetables, beetroot purée and a fine light sauce. Every mouthful was a joy. Onto desert while my friends decided on the peach and chocolate options I had the sheepâs cheese which had a fantastic depth of flavour and completed the meal perfectly. The restaurant offers amazing food served by lovely staff in an unhurried and informal atmosphere I would not hesitate to come again. The very best food I have tasted in a long time!

The atmosphere is truly French and although the owners speak English it is definitely a restaurant favored by locals. The food is excellent and varied I had the fillet steak but all the dishes chosen by our party were delicious and the desserts are out of this world.
