Early reservation meant waiters were not sure who would wait on us, the bread basket bread was cold (at refrigerator temp), and, oddly, the fish was overcooked branzino. Mediocre service. Mediocre food. Would not go again.

"Chez Mamou isn't the kind of place you will discover dishes you've never heard of; its menu is based on things Americans have loved since Julia Child introduced us to them. But it's a very pretty, very comfortable little French Café with good food, frien
We stumbled upon Chez Mamou French Restaurant while walking around the downtown/Plaza area of Santa Fe. It was about 1 pm, and we were both kinda hangry, not haven eaten all day.The weather was sunny and in the 70s, so we elected to sit outside in the sun. Soon our waitress appeared to take our food and drink orders. I ordered a glass of red wine and my partner got a glass or Prosecco. We got the Charcuterie And Cheese Plate as an appetizer, and for entrees I ordered the Ravioli Chef Noe while my partner settled on the White Omelette. We devoured the cheese plate--as assortment of cheeses, prosciutto, pickles, caper berries, and sliced French bread. Yum! And soon our entrees arrived. My ravioli was absolutely delicious--cheese-stuffed pasta in a green pesto sauce, with artichokes, broccoli, and asparagus. OMG! My partners eggs came with sauteed mushrooms, roasted potatoes and a green salad. It sure hit the spot and took the edge off our hanger. It was a beautiful fall day, and we didn't want to leave. But after we finished a second round of drinks I guess we had no choice but to mosey on. All-in-all it was a very satisfying lunch at the Chez Mamou French Restaurant.

Amazing that a fairly small bistro can daily produce a wide variety of excellent breakfast and lunch taste treats, with an emphasis on French and fresh! Interesting hot and cold buffet items change daily, specialty hot plates, great design-your-own sandwiches, comfy environment, helpful and friendly staff/owners. French onion soup like it's supposed to be. Ruebens that are a meal in themselves. French dips prepared to perfection -- with only great beef, nicely textured rolls and tasty au jus.

â¦.after a long day of travel to get to Santa Fé for the opera festival, they could do no wrong though without a spirits license we had to make do with a delicious, crisp Californian burgundy-style white wine. Prompt and attentive staff ensured that things were done in a timely fashion as we had a deadline while the menu largely reflected the area, simply crafted and well-presented. Chefs were visible over the pass, swearing and joshing as chefs will, but service was swift and the descriptive menu was accurate. Serrano ham with asparagus was well matched with a Pyrenean cheese â how did two of those get there, I wonder? My only quibble â I thought it was spelled Pâtit Basqueâ¦â¦but as it is a comparatively newly invented, whatever.

Clafoutis is a French Restaurant and Bakery that serves Breakfast and Lunch. We baked fresh bread and pastries daily.
In a town with a lot of terrific restaurants, this is one of my favorites. Great for breakfast or lunch. The food is very French and excellent. For example, the Quiche Madison, which comes with a very pretty and delicious side salad, is excellent. Portions at Clafoutis are pretty generous but save room for the main event â dessert! The wide assortment of French pastries is wonderful, but itâs hard not to go for the name-sake clafoutis, which comes in a variety of fruits. The mixed berry is outstanding. The new location is charming and much bigger than the original with ample parking.
