Things to do in Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux

The evening we visited Saint Paul Trois Chateaux there was a jazz festival taking place. Having discovered that the hotel recommended restaurant only had one item on their âkids menuâ (Le Comptoir des Arts) we took our chance and tried to find somewhere more suitable to eat. The Bistro Gourmand perfectly fitted the bill. Despite not having reserved in advance we were warmly greeted, our dog was given some water and we settled down for the evening. After a first beer I decided to try the 51 Glacial Aperitif which was new to the market this year and an intriguing mixture of menthe & anis at a respectable 40°. I chose the menu comprising a salade gourmande followed by cod â dos de cabillaud aux pignons de pins. Delicious. My son went for the 4 cheese pizza and after having picked out all the blue cheese to smear on the crusty bread for me to eat he struggled successfully through the rest. To accompany the meal I went for a pichet of local rose wine which was nicely refreshing. Pichets of water were also on hand to help quench the thirst. Service was great throughout. Simple, down to earth and typically French even though we were officially in an Italian establishment. OK, the jazz where we were was not ideal â the female singer seemed to wail most of the time. But a late evening stroll through the streets brought us to other small bands who were much better. All in all, a lovely evening!

Every other cafe in Saint Paul had finished serving by 1345 when we arrived, but the lady in this crêperie was kind enough to stay open and provided super galettes. The galette with goats cheese for 8.50 was excellent, and the day's special with roquefort cream and pears at 10 euros was super, both with a little salad. Drinks included a nice glass of local wine for 3 euros a glass and of course a little pichet of Breton cider for 3 euros. Coffee for 1.50 was good.Excellent food, service and value.

Restauration traditionnelle servie sous forme de tapas. Un seul service pour garantir la qualité. Réservation vivement conseillée.
Loungy place in a very tiny town. Attractive outdoor terrace, equipped with trendy classical tables and chairs as well as a lounge chairs. Uncomplicated service with a big smile. Tapas were ok, not exceptional, just good. But given the cosy environment, certainly worthwhile visiting.Ps: please serve Belgian Affligem in the appropriate glass :-)

We booked a table, without looking into the menu upfront. They serve a lot of dishes which are not everybody's taste, like kidneys of veal, fricassee of snails, stewed pig feet, ...I would suggest not to visit the restaurant if you're accompanied with children, because the dishes are absolutely not suited for them. We found the dishes however well prepared. Kids were not happy, but we were to blame for that, cause the resto serves almost no child friendly dishes. I found it a petty most of the main courses had the same accompaniments. The selection of wines is good. Service is uncomplicated, but the the point. Amicalement

The lunch salad was delicious....with cheese, greens, avocado, yellow sweet pepper, hard-boiled eggs, cucumbers, strawberries and a nice dressing including lemon juice. As there was a nice, light Mistral blowing, lunch on the square was a delightful place to be on a warm day. WC very clean. If I am able to find my way back to this square, I will definitely eat at this restaurant. Because of the French - Australian game being played out, out of doors eating was very quiet today!

A masterâs mansion of Tricastin local architecture, today a four-star hotel Villa Augusta, is the perfect place to enjoy the warmth of the Provençale art of living. You can enjoy the 4000-m² shady and wooded park, the heated swimming pool and our gourmet
Great ambiance, very professional staff, and what a finesse on your plate.Dishes with a melange of very subtil fragrances.Winelist made by a real connaisseur (not cheap though). Not only the wellknown names, but also great less known wines from this region.Impeccable service. Please Michelin, I met recently some starred restaurants that are less! Villa Augusta deserves your star.

Great little restaurant serving French style tapas. All the dishes we ordered were delicious and filling. Would recommend the squid, chorizo and prawns, chicken in garlic cream and the grilled vegetables. Excellent rose wine was perfect with the dishes we chose. Very friendly owner with good sense of humour made this a very enjoyable evening. You won't be disappointed.

The restaurant is tucked away just off the main town square. There appears to be indoor and outdoor seating but as it was raining when we went we were seated inside a lovely but small area with stone walls. It felt very intimate. The waitress was fun but had limited English, luckily we speak some French. We even translated for some other diners. The service was excellent. The only criticism we have is the over priced wine. We paid 28 euro for a Cotes de Rhone pretige from a local vineyard. We enjoyed it so much we visited the vineyard the next day where the same wine was 9 euros. I know restaurants charge more because of corkage etc but triple what it cost!

We had a wonderful noonday formule in the enclosed and shaded courtyard. The waiter knew the menu and ingredients and patiently answered all our questions. The food was perfect and he made suggestions for appropriate wine pairings. My wife had a cold pea soupâcreamy and rich followed by stuffed chicken Provençale. I had a chicken pate followed by short ribsâslow cooked and tender with a reduction sauce. Dessert was a lemon meringue deconstruction for my wife and chocolate terrine ganache for me. 88 euros with 2 glasses of wine and 2 large coffees. We will definitely return.
