Order the Côte De Boeuf! It's primitive beef at its best - a large portion of beef for two people, served on a platter with a choice of sauce dips, accompanied by fries and salad. Simple but delicious. We have visited this rather chaotic place each time we have been to St Martin de Re, but have found it always to be great. This time we tried the starters as well (Smoked Mackeral salad for me and Melon and ham for my wife) and found them to be really tasty. The menu is rather limited but the food is simple and real. Don't miss it. They don't take bookings, so just turn up and wait for a table.

First, what it is not: A restaurant for families with kids (who would rather have McDonalds) Not for Vegans, Picky eaters, Gluten freebies or other food Nazis. The interior is super cute with a nautical theme, I love the tables with real sand and shells under the glass. They use lots of local ingredients including fresh Salicorns and the locally grown small potatoes, and of course fresh fish and other seafood. They have daily specials based on what was fresh at the moment. We both had the fish and it was excellent, tasted as if grilled over a wood fire. The octopus starter was also very enjoyable. They do get booked up, so make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Would also not be a bad idea to look at their website to familiarize yourself with the menu. Good friendly service. We will be back next year.

A very relaxing seafood meal. The restaurant is very casual and cosy (seating very close to people at the next tables). Service is casual and efficient, and the main waitress (owner??) was helpful explaining menu items to us in English. We started with a terrine that we enjoyed. For mains, my wife enjoyed her monk fish and prawns with a curry sauce and I loved the scallops. A bit more sauce for the fish would have been welcome, but what was there was tasty. I was pleased to be able to taste a beer and a wine from Ile de Re, both quite enjoyable for the price.

Very much enjoyed our evening here - the restaurant is a little outside the centre of Saint-Martin, about 5 minutes or so by bike, near the Porte Thoiras. We ate outside in a pleasant courtyard. Service friendly and efficient. Good homely food too - particularly if you like tarts (both savoury and sweet). Iâd recommend in particular if you are vegetarian as there are more options available than often is the case in France.

The food and the ambiance at this restaurant were excellent. The décor with all the little lights is delightful. The service was good once we were seated, however it was disappointing that, as we were 10 minutes early for our table we were asked to come back at the right time. This meant waiting outside with our 81 year old mother which was not ideal. Had we been allowed to wait at our table we would have no doubt ordered more drinks .

I am surprised this restaurant is no 3 on trip advisor - the mere fact it is right on the coastmay account for that and then the seafood is excused. There a few cabana or shack restaurants around the coast- they are attractive because they are rustic and simple and the food speaks for itself.Yes it is busy and wait for a table as there is no reservation system. The service is very mediocre with few staff run off their feet- so typical of France as a result of their employment laws. The restaurant is very exposed - it was an intensely hot day and none of the umbrellas were up which I found strange but give them credit hats were availableNow for the food.We had stopped at fish market over the bridge and were able to see for ourselves the wide choice of fresh fish available. The only fresh fish let alone any fish available was dover sole grilled on the skin in flour and oil - not very interesting no herbs and with potato.-22â¬The reviews state how amazing the oysters - this is not a standout there are so many outlets on the island that provide qualityThere were no mussels. The langoustine supposedly 'fresh' from Scotland were absolutely terrible - extremely mushy and still frozen in parts - I suspect straight out of the box and thawed.Obviously the crevettes were imported This place is just a tourist trapStrongly suggest if you want the authentic experience go to Cabane de la Faneau - sublime tranquil setting nature they farm there own prawns and it shows.Their oysters were on another level - sublime delicate taste without an overriding saltiness like many other place

This was our last day on Il de Re and we wanted something relaxing and good for our young family. We hit the jackpot!!Superb fish, wonderful service and great value. What a difference from the overpriced tourist fare round the harbour Oh - and amazing craft beer (from The waiters home village)!!

Managed to get a seat on a busy Tuesday night.Service was more than acceptable considering the number of diners!Crepes were excellent and something totally different and unexpected from what we English would expect as a main evening meal!(and catered for vegetarians). Cost was reasonable considering location.Staff were very helpful (particularly the young male waiter)and assisted with our basic French! The restaurant is by the harbour and a nice to watch the sun go down.Great visit..Merci!!

In the fine decor of a 17th century style dining room, delight in an intimate gastronomic dinner at La Table d'Olivia. The restaurant welcomes a maximum of twenty guests each evening for a unique culinary experience. Here, you will enjoy a refined and aut
From start to finish an excellent experience. A small but impeccable dining room offers the most refined dining experience in St Martin. The cooking here easily surpasses several Michelin starred restaurants we have visited recently and I'm sure the guide must surely be thinking awarding one here. What we liked was a respect for the ingredients. Top produce with seasonality in mind and then cooked to perfection with a restraint not to add unnecessary garnishes. We also shared a bottle of the hotel's own wine Chateau Clarisse Vielle Vignes 2015 which is new Chateau to me. What a lovely bottle. Already drinking superbly I can say quality to price ratio it is somewhat of a bargain. Until next year! Dear Madam, Dear Sir, I am delighted to read your kind words, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at La Table dâOlivia.Thrilled to read that you appreciated the cuisine of our Chef Thibault Peyroche. We take care about choosing and cooking local and seasonal products. Our Chef used to have a Michelin star in the past, his everyday aim is to bring his guests on an exquisite culinary journey.I am pleased to see that you appreciated the dining room. For the decoration, I collaborated with the renowned designer Mr. Pierre-Yves Rochon, and I surrounded myself with the best craftsmen in order to highlight the history of the Ile de Ré and the Region.Delighted to read that you have appreciated our wines. Our own wine, Château Clarisse, enjoys clay-limestone and clay-siliceous soil and is composed of 67% merlot, 30% cabernet francs and 3% carmenere.I would be happy to welcome you again. For any future stay or reservation, I am happy to put you in touch with my assistant, Marie Dumarest ([email protected]), she will be pleased to arrange the details of your next stay with us. In the heart of Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, Les Huîtres de St-Clément is an Oyster Bar offering a selection of Ile de Ré oysters, to eat on the spot or take away.
à refaire l'an prochain.
