My meal here (the duck) was absolutely gorgeous, whereas my husband said that the steak was the worst he'd eaten in his life. So you take your pick! Either way it's a lovely setting, with a terrace and garden with charming, eccentric decoration, and very helpful staff.

We were in St Emilion for a weekend wine tasting. In general food has been excellent. Last night we went to a restaurant with one Michelin star and which of course offered excellent food, but in the end we were a little bit disappointed with service. Tonight we had booked a table at restaurant Le Clos du Roy and had no such misgivings. From the moment we entered restaurant until we left we felt welcome and well treated. I had a three-course menu with a starter of snail in fried encasing; main course was trout, and a Pancotta desert with pear and sangria-tasting sorbet. To drink we had St Emilion cremant, St Emillion Grand Cru and Lalande de Pomerol. All in all a fantastic evening, where the overall experience was greater than the one Michelin star restaurant which failed on the service; this restaurant left you smiling both in stomach and mind. Can be highly recommended!Thank you very much Norwegiansunlovers for taking the time to deposit this very detailed feedback on TripAdvisor, and for all these compliments that I transmit to the whole team. We are pleased that you enjoyed your dinner at Le Clos du Roy, and that it helped to give you pleasant memories of your wine weekend in our village of Saint-Ãmilion.Better who starred restaurant, that much ?! More than a star, compliments such as yours and your satisfaction are the best rewards for our work.Thank you so much.Looking forward to welcoming you back to our restaurant,Nikhola

In a friendly atmosphere, Malvina and Soraya offer "rustic burgers", french fines plates and salads. Compose your plate around a fine glass of wine as you wish.
Nice place for lunch . Loved our burgers I had the duck confit burger my husband the beef burget , Delicious. The fois gras appetizer we shared great.. Negative part...no bread served..only two tiny pieces with our foie gras...the bread would have helped...had to flag the waiter for a napkin and water. All in all good place but service could be improved.

Annual closing until February, 28th 2019
There are lots of options around the area which mostly target tourists. But compare to the other parts of France in this area they mostly stick with their authenticity. To our surprise many restaurants closes at 6:00 so do your research. Charming, clean and unexpectedly wonderful restaurant in a corner of a narrow cobbled street. The owner and his son are very friendly. And to top that the food is incredible. One of chefs creation is duck burger with fois gras which was fantastic. The combination with green pepper sauce is perfection. Make sure you pair it with the wine from the owners vineyard. Great experience and wish could stay longer to go back.

Each day is a different menu. Originally was a truckerâs stop but people realized the food is good ,the wine okay and all for 14 Euros. We were a group of 7 and were served way more on platters than we could eat. Yes ,there are 6 courses plus coffee included (wine also) everything was way more than acceptable. Our server has worked there 25 years. Donât expect fancy but certainly good. Remember lunch only and closed weekends.

The food was OK, but the service was mediocre. Some of the wines in the menu were not available. We had to order alternatives. Even then, the year of the white wine was incorrect. The waiters did not let us taste the wines before pouring the white wine, and before decanting the red wine. We paid the same price for Logis de la Cadene, where the food was much better and the service impeccable!

Logis de la Cadène is located on a small square in the very centre of the medieval town. With its steep cobbled street, its old golden stone facade and its wisteria arbour, this is a lovely, quiet haven ideal for relaxed enjoyment. The shady terrace and t
Really impressed with our dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. So creative and delicious. I had the Quail fabulous and my husband ...veal. so many creative starters...oysters, shrimp with caviar, Mackerel...and little canopies with smoked salmon...all so delicious. The parade of desserts were wonderful. Wonderful and friendly servers and staff.Only negative is I would have preferred if the light was dimmed...too bright for me...Dear customer,Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us such a nice review. We are glad that you enjoyed your lunch and overall culinary experience among us. We couldnât be more grateful for such kind comment and will make sure to share it with our team. We are also taking into account your remark about the lights and hope to welcome you back soon.Sincerely,

Open Every Day To April Until September
Our group of 7 walked in without a reservation. The staff was welcoming and pleasant. Of course, yes, we can make it work. And make it work they did. From the first amuse to the very last bite, each dish was exceptional. Our group size mandated that we select a fixed menu (pork or fish as the main), bu that did not matter at all. Each of us could have had the other main without hesitation. The service and pacing was excellent. The sommelier made smart suggestions that paired well and were fairly priced. The food speaks for itself. I know I am not describing it and there is a reason - each will have his or her own unique experience. I can add this - there were no complaints about any course. My point is to try it. We saw people looking at the menu outside the restaurant and choosing to move on for whatever unknown reason. However, when you are in St. Emilion and looking for a top notch restaurant, go here. For everything our meal represented, we left quite happy, satisfied and knowing the next time we visit we will need to make a reservation because it was that good and will be that busy, deservedly so. Thank you so much for your visit and for taking time to review your experience. We are glad you enjoyed your meal and hope to see you again soon in St Emilion. Best Wishes

We had cappuccinos on the terrace. Amazing view, and the service and hospitality incredible. I am dairy free and the almond milk cappuccino was fantastic. I travel the world and get dairy free cappuccinos wherever I can (where it's possible anyway) and this was by far the best, so tasty! To top it off with nice and great service, and an incredible view. Can't do any better than that!Unfortunately the restaurant is closed Sundays so we could not enjoy that. If we are ever back in this area we will definitely come back!Dear 748rayn,We thank you for your nice comment. We are glad to know that you highly appreciate our almond milk cappucino. We always pay attention to allergies and dietary restrictions of our guest. We look forward to welcome you next time to the restaurant !Best Regards,Mylène GelinAttachée de Direction

Restaurant based in the village of Montagne offering a market bistronomic and seasonal cuisine.
This is a brand new restaurant in Montagne. They still need to get their menu in more languages (when I was there it was only in French) but everything we had was tasty. Though Montagne is a sleepy town, this restaurant was suprisingly full when we went. It's fine dining and sophisticated servings and presentation. Worth a visit if you are in Saint Emilion in the summer and can't get a place to eat.
