My husband and I are lucky enough to have a house in Neuvic where this restaurant is. We have eaten here often and have never been disappointed. The lunchtime set menu is great value and often showcases regional dishes, which are delicious. They also do really good quality pizza. Well worth a visit, especially at lunchtime.

Custom your own burger or salad with fresh local products. Hot and cold drinks, coffee and "artisan" ice creams
We arrived late at our accommodations. We were actually looking for another restaurant to grab some takeaway food but were turned away.Hubby knocked into this place, not expecting much. The burger was amazing, really fresh and tasty. The fries were good too. The staff are lovely and helpful.

We have had two meals here, menu du jour at lunch time and a more sophisticated meal in the evening. The restaurant is owned and run by a lovely young couple, latterly of the Michelin starred Pressoir DâArgent in Bordeaux, one of Gordon Ramseyâs restaurants...Abel has also trained with Guy Savoy....So as protégés of these amazing chefs the couple have created their new restaurant in this quiet corner of Périgord. We were very impressed, some interesting variations on French classics and some wonderful flavours. As part time residents of the area we are thrilled that there is a new restaurant of this standard...and we envisage becoming regulars. Most of the restaurants in Neuvic are great (see my other reviews) but Cilaos stands out as there is some real imagination in their dishes...If you are nearby I urge you to eat here, you will not be disappointed.

Went with several ladies....for a most pleasant lunch. This was booked and we had a lovely long table just for us. The staff nearly all trainees, try their up most to give us good service. This is also a school for children with learning difficulties so one should remember this when visiting as you may have to repeat your request...sometime!The food was good, pleasant but not fantastic but certainly worth a visit as this help not only the finance of this school but also give confidence to the youngsters. Will certainly will go back there again.

We had lunch here mid- week in February and the restaurant was nearly full. We had a four course meal for â¬12.50 - soup, salad buffet, main dish and dessert. The service was friendly and efficient and the meal was excellent value for money. Our dog was made to feel welcome as well.

We visited this restaurant a few times while staying in the Dordogne (Coursac), both for lunch and for dinner and it is always a pleasure. The hostess Floriane (owner) is very friendly and entertaining (english speaking), while her husband (the chef) creates delicious "Cuisine de Tradition" . For example the "Salade Chapeau Rouge" is highly recommended. If you choose a menu the prices are friendly in relation to the quality. Lunch or dinner outside in the warmer months is a pleasure. The interior of the restaurant may not be very cosy, but all is forgotten by the delicious food and friendly staff. There's one Pomerol on the wine-menu (I forgot the Chateau, but it is around 28,= per bottle) that is truly delicious with "Margret de Canard" or "Entrecôte". According to my friends the fish is fantastic too. I am looking forward to visit Chapeau Rouge again next time !

First, I'm a pizza snob from NY/NJ . I don't eat at pizza chains or what they call pizza in Chicago. So, the crust is perfect. The cheese texture is pretty close to authentic, but lacks the exact smell (odd since the French have some smelly cheeses!). The toppings were generous. I only miss that garlicky quality of NY pizza. The French use more subtle flavors in their food. I don't miss the traditional dripping grease. Overall acceptable. The staff was good too.

Visited this restaurant on market day as a result of a friends recommendation - would endorse their view. We had the set menu which was very good. Service was first class. The duck was quite rare, which suited us. Chicken rice salad starter was generous and tasty. Desert of strawberries top notch - fresh and moorish. Toilets clean and modern.

Intimate restaurant with maximum 20 cutlery, where locals produits are in the honor in a refined cooking. Single Menu about 28â¬, Reservation 24h before minimum
The restaurant is in a pretty setting, with beautifully converted buildings and everything looks really clean and well kept. The tables and decoration is very modern which contrasts well with the old restored farmhouse building. We found the food very interesting and adventurous, unlike most restaurants in the area which fall back on duck, duck and duck. Most of the dishes worked for most of us, so it was a very pleasant experience. We had an amuse bouche of scrambled egg with pomelo, then a salad of sturgeon with a crumble. The main course was veal, very tasty and cooked to perfection, with courgettes; we all thought that the addition of a potato or polenta or some such would have been an improvement. The pudding was a pavlova. Again this was good, tasty but a bit chewy. Overall, for the price, the meal was really good. The wine list was short as you would expect from and the white wine was probably maderised though none of us felt sufficiently confident to say so at the time. I think we would go again. It helps seeing the dishes on the restaurant's Facebook page. It is very laudable that they use local products wherever possible and try to bring a wider range of the fabulous produce found in the area to their clients.
