I've eaten here on a number of occasions, for lunch, breakfast or just a snack. The quality of the offerings is amazingly high. It is a good thing that I don't live nearby, otherwise I would be here quite often. The pastries are of a very high quality. Egg souffle, quiches, and french toast are also excellent.

I haven't been to Cave Vin in a long time, and I honestly cannot remember why. The space is small and intimate, perhaps a little dated, but the owners are doing small renovations in stages. My friends and I went for our usual Friday night out and neither of my friends had been. We started out with the French country Pate (yummy) and the P.E.I Mussels. You could honestly drink that broth from you shoe - it was amazing! I also ordered the Baby Tomato Panzanella salad. Great vegetable season has not yet hit in Minnesota, but these were the ripest, sweetest tomatoes I've enjoyed in a long time. The bread was just a little stale, but everything else was spot on. Entrees were the Arctic Char, so flaky with an amazing beurre blanc, Pistachio-crusted pork tenderloin (so tender, and the pistachios were a great crunchy add), and the Grilled Chicken Paillard (super moist and juicy, loved the lemon-caper sauce). They have a small, but tasty wine list, staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.Oh, and did I mention they have a small patio out front with seating, so you really do feel like you're at a French bistro.I also learned they have Alan Bergo, formerly of the Salt Cellar, consulting with them on their menu and it shows. I was so sad when Salt Cellar closed for what it is now, and am thrilled to see Alan's talents are being put to great use.So if you live in the Twin Cities, or if you're visiting, and don't mind a short jaunt into south Minneapolis, check this place out. You will NOT be disappointed.

We came to the Cities for a baby shower and was recommended this restaurant by my family. We had reservations and were immediately seated and given a friendly welcome to their cute little french restaurant. We had a fabulous wait staff person who made our dining experience delightful.I tried several champagnes--both delicious and enjoyed my mussels--my husband was rather hesitant as he really is a meat and potato kinda guy but he got into the meal and liked his meal also. It was a great evening--thank you

They must have the largest freshest shrimp cocktail in MN. Their scallops are done extremely well also. Tried a chestnut soup special which was really delightful. The beef special was a little disappointing somewhat stringy. Great servers and ambience and not too loud.
