It was good to warm up inside this nice restaurant on a rainy night. As a starter, i had the tarte flambee, which was just right. For mains, I chose the coquilles that looked a lot better than they tasted. Unfortunately I found a lot of sand in my dish, and the sauce was not as good as I'd hoped. Probably a bad day as the restaurant was jam packed.

We had excellent meals both nights we ate here. The first night, I had baeckeoffe (meat stew with vegetables) and it was very good and hot! My husband had the cutlet with cheese sauce and French fries and he raved about it! His fries were the best I have ever had - fluffy! We ate here the next night after an awful experience trying to eat up the street and again, everything was great. Served quickly and cheerfully by a staff person who put up with my poor French, I had a salad and hot bread and my husband again had the cutlet but this time breaded. He cleaned the plate. Prices are very reasonable and with 2 entrees, wine and water, the bill was less than 40€.

My husband and I just took our fourth trip to Ribeauville since January 2017. We visited Chez Martine during our first trip and I was bowled over by how good the Quiche Lorraine was. On our last evening during our most recent visit, we decided to stop in again for dinner. We had a very good meal and the service was fantastic.A very charming and friendly young lady took care of us. She apologized for not speaking much English, although we thought she did a good job. Her English was much better than our French is! We ordered a bottle of local wine. I had Quiche Lorraine and my husband had potato pancakes with salmon. Both dishes were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. I have now tried quiche at several Ribeauville restaurants and I am convinced Chez Martine's is the best. I loved the salad, too, especially since the delightful dressing was served on the side. We followed dinner with dessert and shared a slice of cheesecake. We also both had a round of espresso. The cheesecake was not too heavy or sweet and was a fine follow up to a delightful meal. We will definitely make a point of making Chez Martine a required stop on future visits to Ribeauville. Bravo!

We called in without a reservation but it was right on opening time. We were treated a little like an interruption rather than a paying customer. My wife had chicken and it was bordering on inedible, dry, bones throughout and tough. My steak was good but certainly not as good as expected. We realise that dogs are allowed into restaurants and we have absolutely no issue with it however, one particular dog, sat at the table and really did smell bad. It was not very pleasant and I think that unhygienic dogs should not be allowed.

We were with friends who were visiting Alsace for the first time. In Ribeauvillé we looked at several restaurants before deciding to eat here, and we were very well pleased with the food, the service and the ambiance. We would come here again.

We've eaten at the restaurant regularly in the last five years but the food this visit on the 51€ was rather disappointing. The asparagus soup amuse bouche, sliced foie gras with rhubarb chutney (although the wild fennel flavour was not noticeable) starter, and the tiger prawns with risotto and asparagus were all tasty. But the rack of lamb meat was very sinewy, hard-to-cut and chewy despite being pink and the accompanying pepper, tomato, courgette and olive fricassée was sad. Both the elder-infused rhubarb and the strawberry desserts were bland and more like afterthoughts. The service was, as usual, good and unobtrusive.Hopefully a one-off. We'll be back.

Great experience and authentic Alsatian food. A wonderful outdoor dining venue where you are not on a street, but in a quiet patio. Pretty good English spoken, and very helpful staff. Beware of the portion size! Many dishes are plenty for two, and can be shared!

My faith in Ribeauville has been restored. Merci! After a dreadful experience at the Wistub zum Pfifferhaus, we lunched here. They were obviously under pressure, with lots of lunchers including a 20-strong party of Swedes. Nevertheless we were welcomed warmly and shown to a nice table. In June 2019 there were two fixed menus at 33 and 44 euros. There was also a la carte. In summary, the food, wines, and service were all impeccable. There was an eclectic choice of meat fowl and fish. There was a good selection of local wines, backed up by some from further afield. All served unfailingly well by a very cheerful pair of personnel. The cuisine was excellent. A broth of fresh peas was inventive and delightful. Loin of veal with morilles and a classic sauce was to die for. Cod tasted so fresh considering the distance from the sea. Cheeses were carefully chosen. Deserts were mouth-wateringly homemade. We were so impressed we booked again for tomorrow!! This place is (only slightly) out of town so it doesn’t have the footfall of tourists. But go there! It is worth the detour. What a refreshing change from the dire Wistub zum Pfifferhaus, which I reviewed elsewhere in Trip Advisor. Both are in Guide Michelin; Wistub is heading for expulsion, Menetriers is headed for stardom!

Whilst the food we had here was perfectly adequate, our evening was completely ruined by the dreadful service and poor attitude shown by the waiting staff. We sat down and ordered at 7.20 and by 9.00, having had our starters, were still waiting for our main courses. When they finally came I expressed (politely) our dissatisfaction, but again we ended up waiting to have those plates cleared away and the offer of dessert. By this time it was too late and I eventually managed to catch the eye of the waitress who offered no apology and was really quite rude in her manner, She said they were busy (which they weren't), but in my experience and opinion, restaurants shouldn't have more covers than they can cope with, and should certainly be more polite when customers are understandably frustrated. The table next to us were having similar issues, and they also left without ordering dessert or more drinks.

Passing through and sleeping here, i had dinner in the very cosy and nice, traditionally decorated restaurant, a bit separated from the hotel. High quality local specialities, very good, maybe somewhat traditional wine list with lots of local toppers, very friendly, very welcoming. Ate a wonderful terrine here and some tradtional tripes d'alsace. Very high quality, nice place.
