Find out what French restaurants to try in Reykjavik. Reykjavik bears the distinction of being the world’s northernmost capital, and for many Icelandic visitors it also serves as a gateway to the rugged adventure options beyond. Recharge after outdoor pursuits in one of the many geothermal springs or luxurious indoor spas. We appreciate Reykjavik’s open-minded and energetic culture that includes a hip and internationally recognized music and arts scene, great food and notoriously "enthusiastic" nightlife.

If you want to enjoy gourmet French cuisine with a Nordic touch and excellent service, then The Lobsterhouse is the right place for you. The restaurant was established in 1992 and has been a favorite with many locals since then. Our langoustine, Icelandic
I wanted to applaud after eating dinner here. The chef included the perfect sauce for lobster and scallops. Staff was great. Dessert was ice cream that literally exploded with flavor in my mouth. Place is small, feels like a quiet New England inn that is well located. The menu included horse (hard pass) so they have variety. The meal is expensive, but treat yourself.Thank you so much, we are honored to be chosen the best meal in your 16 days in Europe. We are delighted that you are so pleased.

Finally we found a place where we could try traditional Icelandic food; sheep head, dried fish etc. The sheep head tastes great but there is not much meat on a sheep head and the dried fish taste like paper (as expected). But it was important to try :-)
