Hidden among the narrow streets of Redon, France, we happened upon this tiny little restaurant, which turned out to be a jewel in disguise, in spite of its exterior lack of charm. We weren't in the mood for crepes and were happy to see that Le Poseidon offered a great menu of traditional French cuisine for 16.5 Euros, which included an appetizer, main dish and dessert, with at least three choices for each course. The menu changes daily and the patronne, who runs the front of the house while her son is the chef, was proud to tell us that they purchase all of their food fresh from the local markets, so the menu depends upon what is in season. Our salads (Bel Isloise with smoked herring, salmon, potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce) and le Perigordine (with chicken gizzards, eggs, tomatoes and lettuce) were delicious, and the hint of nutmeg on the potatoes and the savory sauce served with our main dish of fish was superb. For dessert, we decided to go for the dessert crepe with ice cream and chocolate. With a week's notice, the restaurant will also prepare couscous, paella and sauerkraut dishes for six or more people, which you can pick up for a party at home, or eat in the restaurant. We overheard other clients from northern Brittany and Quebec who had received recommendations to eat here. We will definitely return!

There didn't appear to be much restaurant choice in central Redon so we were amazed to find this little gem tucked a little out of the way. The food was well presented and of excellent quality with impecable service. Do book in advance as this restaurant was very popular with locals. Highly recommended.

We had a very delightful dinner at Creperie l'Akene. It as Tuesday night and business was brisk with several local families. It was obviously a spot enjoyed by residents of the town. The crepe selection was quite extensive including two different types of batter, and the service was efficient and friendly. My crepe was more traditional with ham, cheese and mushrooms while my wife's contained a sauced chicken and cheese. It was a very pleasant meal, and a spot we could easily recommend to others.

We propose home made traditionnel french food. It is elaborated from fresh and seasonal ingredients. We regularly change our menus and they can also face changes.
We were two famished long distance cyclists, and this central restaurant suited us perfectly, delicious but not over fussy cuisine ( the desserts better than other places we've eaten in France) which was filling and refreshing. service was prompt, attentive and friendly. We would highly recommend it but check opening times/days on their website to avoid disappointment.Thank you for you comment. We are pleased you enjoyed you diner at our restaurant. Hope to welcome you some other time.

Drizzly Friday in Redon so why not try this quirky delightful little place. We had a gorgeous three courses of local produce cooked to order with wine. Great surroundings to keep the eye entertained. We had Billie Holliday as background music and came away with some pretty wine glasses and a stunning cake plate too! Service, food, atmosphere ten out of ten.

English menu available in the restaurant.French traditional cuisine, fresh produces and Cook on place.Generous dishes. Do not hesitate to book your table on weekend.
We went here following some good reviews on TA and they advertised the fact that they had an Allergen ,which is the sole reason we chose here, as one of our party had dietary requirements. We all sat down to order and indeed gave our order but when it came to the lady with the dietary needs, we asked for the card to check what was Gluten free. We were told simply that nothing was, which we know is rubbish,as we have not yet found somewhere that cant help with a mealk in some way.The waiter announced that the card although stated everywhere, was not even written yet !!We then all had to leave the restaurant, which was highly embarrassing and go and find somewhere else to eat.Not a good evening.

We visit this restaurant each time we pass through the area (once or twice a year). It is always excellent. Perfect food, good wine, lovely people, good service, pleasant atmosphere, excellent value. What more could one ask? Also felt inspired to draw the lovely Stephanie.

This restaurant was recommended by the flower shop and we were not disappointed , simple food , very french but also working with fresh product and all was home made. Good taste even for simple dishes. The set menu was excellent and all our guests were happy for their lunch. a large parking facing the restaurant is available near the canal.
