The restaurant looks trendy and has an eclectic interior style, slightly unexpected in this rural setting. The food was very nice, one could immediately tell they source their ingredients locally. Sometimes there was not enough protein with the veg for my taste, and I didn't like any of the paired drinks, but overall this was very interesting.

Na een wandeling in het Eversambos hier beland voor lunch en dat viel reuze mee. Driegangenlunch voor prima prijs. Mooie ligging, fijne omgeving, aangename bediening, gemoedelijke sfeer...

Brilliant set menu with intricate and astonishing bits and pieces. Charming attention, particularly la Patronne but wine included in menu was not pleasing. Four glasses of run of the mill wine for sixty euros added on menu for two is not on. Otherwise great. But you pay for it.

We were staying in Flanders to visit the WW1 battlefields associated with a long lost great uncle of ours who never returned to Australia after the battle of Fromelles in 20 June 1916. We were staying with English friends who had heard about this restaurant. It is superb and we can recommend it completely. The restaurants Jean Francoise is a giant of a man and generous and relented host. The food is high quality and local and seasonal. To keep costs down the menu is restricted but is superb in quality. The wine list is small but vintage. We had a 1999 Vintage wine which was a surprise! The interior and exterior of the establishment is fascinating and beautifully presented with old farm and cooking implements. The old windmill is just nearby. We loved this place!

The menu offered a range of choices, and after hesitating over the ribs, I chose steak with pepper sauce. The steak was done exactly as I had asked - rare to medium, and the sauce added just the right amount of piquancy, without overpowering the flavour of the meat, Accompanied by a house salad, and a generous portion of fries, this was an excellent meal. Being in Belgium, the obvious drink to accompany the food was beer, and Den Hertog has a wide range to choose from. This won't be my last visit!

Wonderful restaurant with lovely views and of course Great beers. Generous portion sizes and delicious sharing boards. But the staff serving us did not make us feel welcome and werenât particularly friendly which was disappointing. I was left standing at the bar waiting to pay while they seemingly ignored me until it suited them. Upon leaving our waited refused to even look at us. Having said that I would still return. Ensure you have a table with a view as itâs delightful.

The restaurant is secluded in the fields and can be difficult to find.Friendly welcome from the host.Initially we had some to wait a long time for our appetizer, but after this, it all went very smoothly. We had someone in our group who ate glutenfree. We had previously reported this by the reservation and it was fully implemented as required. The dishes were made extremely fresh and finely finished. We were all pleasantly surprised from the offered dishes. The price is fair for what we got. We will definitely honor this restaurant with a new visit !

Really pleasant experience - restaurant is always nice - good staff and service, as per usual. My two colleagues behaved themselves in front of their âSuperiorâ and desisted with a long running joke - to that I say âthanks.â Yes, sheâs magnificent, and adore her, so good to quit it.I myself had a simple tuna croquette with chips - very nice indeed. They both had steaks, which they said were very fine indeed.Enjoyable lunch.

Had both 3-course dinner and a gastronomic supper there. The hostess goes out of her way to please, the setting is in an old town mansion where also Hotel Recour is located. Both during the 3-course dinner and the 6-course menu the food was light and excellent: quality ingredients, pure tastes nice presentation. The wine arrangement for the 6-course was very good and surprising (not a French wine in sight), with a few unexpected (but pleasant) touches. Prices of wine per bottle are rather high. Wine cannot be ordered by the glass.
