Worth a visit for the crepes and cider at lunch time at a set price of 9 Euros.Service can be patchy when busy but the pleasant ambience makes it worth the wait.

Double recommendation (tripadvisor and the owner of our B&B) led us to spent our last evening in Bretagne in restaurant Al Dente. The expectations were very high, and were met from the start. The waiters were very friendly, and the apetisers (focacia, tomato, croquette of sardines, mozzarella were of a very promising level. In the evening, you can only take the menu (a 27 EUR) which consist of a choice between 2 starters, 2 main dishes and 4 desserts. We took one of each starter and main dish, and all 4 dishes were outstanding. Many congrats to the chef and his team in the kitchen. The desserts just followed the quality of the dishes and were very good. Why then not a quotation of 5/5, but only 4/4 ? Well the tempo of the meals was very slow. We started at 19:30 and 3 courses later, we finished after 22:00. Just 3 courses in 2,5 hours is much to slow. And knowing the restaurant is âItalianâ we expected a bit more âenergyâ.

Since moving to the area in July we have visited this restaurant fortnightly for either lunch or dinner and have not had a bad meal yet, they have all been excellent. The staff are very friendly (and speak excellent English) and dogs are allowed (either on the terrace or inside the restaurant). The set 4 course lunch is excellent value, 13,50⬠including wine as is the evening set menu (I think this is about 26â¬). Everything is delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. We took friends who stayed with us here for dinner and they couldn't believe the standard of the food in a small French village. We've had takeaway burgers and fish and chips and they have also been really tasty. They open at 11.00 and I think lunch is served 12pm - 14.00 and dinner 19.00 - 21.00, open for drinks in-between these times. Closed on Mondays and Tuesday all day. Highly recommended!

Having been regular visitors for a number of years my wife and I were saddened to discover the lovely young ladies who had run this excellent creperie for all the time we knew it had decided to move on. The present proprietors have retained the menus but the food isn't of the same quality. Let's hope that with a bit more practice they will improve. We'll give them another chance but speaking to locals we aren't optimistic.

Friendly staff happy to accommodate 4 adults and a baby. Seated in terrace outside which was very pleasant. Baby enjoyed his fish and rice, and the adults their tomato and feta salad followed by fillet of pork. Crime brûlée rounded off a very pleasant lunch. Hello,Thank you very much for your compliments, We are pleasedSee you soon

On recommendation from locals visit and was impressed. A good artisans lunch - today seafood starters with lamb and cous cous. Excellent taste and value. Certainly a lunchtime visit is worthwhile. However, do not expect a lot of choice and be sure this is not worse for that. Loved it great atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Stopped here for lunch. When arrived the car park was almost full so we hoped we could get a table. Inside is a spacious restaurant and we were quickly seated with menus and our drinks order taken. This restaurants basically serves savoury and sweet pancakes! The savoury are dark whilst the sweet light. My partner had the St Jacques which was scallops and a sauce whilst I had the St William which was Roquefort with pear, honey and nuts. Both were light and delicious. We followed with apple, caramel and butter sweet ones. Once again light, beautifully made and delicious. Having eaten many galettes in France these must rank as one of if not the best. The service was just as good as the food. This restaurant is not easy to find and you need to drive from the centre alongside the canal toward Baud through the industrial zone when it is up a road on the left. Find it it is top class.

ject: Hotel-Restaurant de la Vallee Location: Plumeliau, Morbihan, Brittany, France, Europe Title: Wonderful French Impression ID#: 392530836 You must have heard the stories about wandering round the French countryside, desperately trying to find anything resembling somewhere to have a beer and a bag of crisps and then falling into a heaven ,complete with optional manna.......Well we did. The July 14th Bastille Day celebrations were in full swing in St Nicholas des Eaux, flee market with tons of tat,old men on new motorbikes( please, please get me one) a fleet of beautiful old motor cars, scrubbed up and looking terriffic, the river looking beautiful, dressed fore and aft with flowers and trees and a sky full of sun and 20deg. So,whats the next thing on the agenda......of course ,a cold beer and glass of wine. So we walked along the river admiring the cars ,chortling at the tat....yes! Ok we did buy some and eventually found ourselves at the end of the road next to what looked like a tatty French bar and tabac, but ,what the hell.cold beer and wine were duly delivered. After a bit the suggestion was that we could possibly have lunch here at the RESTAURANT de la VALLEE.It was a bit early but we lingered over the drinks and then grabbed an inside table. The menu du jour was a limited choice and we were a bit thrown by the bretton French menu but Madam was on hand to help. 3 courses was E30.50 a bit more expensive than we usually pay for a normal lunch but this was our last day. A half bottle of Rose de Provence seemed like a good idea. The place was rapidly filling up with older French couples and families who all seemed to be looking forward to a good lunch. Now the one thing we English HAVE to get used to is that a good lunch must not be rushed.Take your time and enjoy the company, the wine and of course the food. It was delicious. We both has the Pate(sorry geese) duck with french fries and some delicious veg and to finish I had the chocolate mousse and Molly had the Creme Caramel.Coffee outside finished off a wonderfull, unexpected visit to a beautiful little French village. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful and didn't mind our terrible attempts at their language, even the other French customers were chatty and friendly. An altogether wonderful way to pass a couple of hours

Great location in sleepy St Nicholas Les Eaux. Serving staff all very friendly and helpful. Busy in August with holidaymakers . Prices reasonable and quality good with galettes and crepes being freshly made. Seating on a small terrace at the front if no space available inside the wooden chalet.Been many times and always return for traditional Breton fayre. Great for families and friends.

The evening we were at La Forge (Tuesday) there was no pizza, which was disappointing but not tragic. The food: The free appetizer was a surprise, both because it was the first we'd had after a week in France that we didn't order ourselves and because while neither of us is particularly fond of olives it was tasty. It also led to a discussion of both the Breton and Cornish flags, which have similar names. We had three crêpes, two savory (of buckwheat) and one sweet (of wheat). The crêpes themselves were finely done, not too overcooked and dry or too undercooked and soft (there is a sad tendency in the U.S. to confuse them with tortillas!), and they were just a little thin and crispy (hence, crêpes) around the edge. The toppings were of good quality and a pleasant quantity, and they were different â more imaginative â than any others we've had in France or elsewhere. There was a good selection of beverages, including local ciders and Breizh (Breton) Cola. There was even ice for that without difficulty. The service:Our server was helpful and friendly without being either overly-familiar or aloof. In addition to French, she also spoke at least sufficient English and Breton for our purpose. She was there when we needed her but didn't hover. The atmosphere:The flow of the room was pleasant, the table and chairs were comfortable, amid the decor was tasteful (and even appropriate) without being either spartan or baroque. The price:The cost for what we received was quite (in the American sense) reasonable.Thank's a lot !! And now, you can order pizza, steak and of course, crepes !! Hope to see you again.
