Le Comptoir

We just love Le Comptoir. This bistro is a slice of heaven just 1 block off of the famous Hollywood Circle. Chef Celine Maury is in the kitchen and does a fantastic job of serving consistently great dishes. For the many years that I have been coming to Le Comptior, I have yet to be disappointed, and neither have my guests. As for the food: Start with the Onion Soup. You will be glad that you did. They do the onions justice. The broth is creamy, sweet with just the right touch of salt, and covered in baked cheese. Order the mussels anyway your heart desires. They are all fantastic. I personally have tried 5 of the different broths. Le Comptoir is perhaps the best of the best when it comes to mussels. My guest's steak was cooked to perfection. Served with an awesome mushroom wine sauce, you can not do better for the price. And everything is cooked to order so don't think dinner is going to be fast, or warmed over leftovers. The bread was warm, soft inside with a crispy crust. Salad fresh and crisp. I did not order desert this trip.If you are lucky, you just might be able to snag a Groupon, Do it.

La Boulangerie Boul'Mich Aventura

Visited here for an early breakfast. The quality of the food was reasonable but my companion and I ordered strong coffees but unfortunately were given cold weak ones. The waitress changed them ameniably but the replacements were still disappointing in flavour. However the omelette I ordered was freshly made and the pancakes were apparently good too. This is a small popular cafe that by nine o’clock was bustling with diners and also people who wanted takeouts. The service seemed pleasant but hectic. As a European I was expecting more of a French establishment as the name implies but an unusual find in an American suburb. If visiting Aventura again I would return as not a lot of choice in that area.
