We found this lovely restaurant last night, just before taking the ferry back to Portsmouth. Just by chance we happened to pass a sign pointing to the restaurant, and decided to give it a try. We arrived a little early - 7:15 (they open at 7:30) but the owners made us feel most welcome. Lovely restaurant, elegant but not pretentious at all. The chef came out to meet us and welcomed us during and after the meal. We ordered the set menu which was very well cooked and presented. Very friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

We had a weekend in Normandy staying in Ouistreham, rang them from the UK to book with my dreadful French!! A really nice place, very friendly helpful waitress. Good fish and seafood. They have some nice menu choices. Reasonably priced.Had the home smoked Camembert - excellent. Recommended.

Great input from the waiter as to what dishes to pick with your taste, and everything was great and on key tastewise.

Fast food restaurant with a burger choice french fries home made crepes salads ice cream and tea time
Unpretentious restaurant that made us very welcome quite late at lunchtime. Very good andouille and camembert galette. Lovely lady owner and prices extremely reasonable. Just a pity the salad could have been a bit more elaborate. Apart from that if you are in the area and you are hungry do not hesitateHello yjacquesb, thanks a lot for your commentary. You're right our salads are simple but well garnished and fresh because we are a snack restaurant

I guess its Ouistreham, but this is disappointing in terms of French food. Naturally English people will review this positively as this is 1000000 times better than anything you can find on the Ile de singes, but as far as French cuisine goes, this is below par- particularly disappointed with the beef. The wine list is even more tragic and super overpriced. The cheeses were the worst- this is France, but these were poor, and pretty far from AOC. Have a look around the town, there are much better options, they may be simpler, but they will certainly not blow your budget. Service indifferent. The POOR food rating is relative to France, if you compare this to England then this place is 5s all the way....

Chose this restaurant because it allows online booking in advance. On arrival and after browsing other restaurants on the street, we actually fancied going to Jo Et Jack next door on viewing their menu which comes with English translation but decided to stick with Les Tisons because of wanting to honor the prior booking. I ordered 12 escargots as starter which were standard but fine. Wanted to order mixed grill de Poisson (15.90 euros) as the main course but decided against it at the end because of having a similar dish for lunch. So ended up going for Marmite Dippecheur which was a BIG mistake. The soup base used was that normally use for the traditional 'mussels in a pot' dish. Reckoned the chef just added some soup to the bottom of the metal pot and let it steam-cook the seafood placed on top. So the assortment of fish was tasteless and overcooked. Prawns and mussels had got grit and sand in them. This dish was nothing special and literally bland and sub-standard. There was no flair or culinary skill involved whatsoever. It was left almost uneaten and was returned to the kitchen. The owner did not charge us for it. Family members ordered Assiette Californienne (16.90 euros; basically burger-like steak, fried eggs and bacon with chips), Le Marmiton de Ris de Veau..... and Le Faux filet Grille sauce..... as main course. All three were very ordinary. Overall a very big big disappointing experience. Wanted to end the holiday with a nice French dinner before boarding the ferry back to Portsmouth. This clearly had not happened. Really do not know why this restaurant has earned a Tripadvisor's 'Certificate of Excellence'. This is very misleading and over-rated.

We wanted an evening meal before boarding our very late night ferry back to Portsmouth, and most places in the town seemed to be closed on a Monday! Luckily, Jo et jack was open, so we decided to eat here - we got there just before 7 pm (opening time), but the very friendly lady allowed us to come in out of the cold and wait until they started serving. We really enjoyed our meal, although I have to confess that nothing on the menu really got me interested. But that's just me. I eventually went for one of their Salades composees, and it was absolutely delicious. A huge plate of lovely mixed salad with duck breast, chicken, egg and all sort of other interesting ingredients. My husband had the tuna steak (cooked almost "bleu"), which he enjoyed. It had an accompanying hot sauce. He had gone for one of the "formules", so he also had oysters to start and then let me have his icecream dessert. I couldn't quite understand why it took so long for the dessert to be served, but when it did eventually come out, it was beautifully presented and tasted delicious! Would definitely eat here again. For a Monday night, there were quite a few people (they all looked local!) and it was a really nice atmosphere - and delicious food.

Superb filled gallette with a lettuce side, followed by a dessert crepe & served with a small glass of cidre. Excellent service, good indoors seating, plenty of choice on the menu. â¬14 - good value too.(They now have loyalty cards: 10 meal stamps = one free galette.)Pay car parking is close by, not expensive. My 3rd visit and always a pleasure to eat here. Merci beaucoup!

This restaurant is amazing! The food and wine are of the highest quality. My wife and I had the Convivial set menu at 50 euro and the house wine. Wow!! We both agreed that it was the best meal we had eaten in France. We found that all the locals use this place and it was full on a Monday lunch when we visited. I would reserve in advance to be sure of getting a table.

Situed on the port of Ouistreham near the arrival and depart for Portsmouth by the Ferry .Seafood platter and a good wine are proposed.Speciality of Fish and Meat . The dishes are homemade. Fast and discreet service .Mussels, fish and ships and crepes .
Had dinner here before embarking for the UK on Saturday night . The service was faultless and the staff really lovely. We were not rushed at all and we had time to eat our meal at a lovely gentle pace. The Mere et terre starter of fois gras and salmon and prawn was superb and our main course of steak perfectly cooked to my taste and my wife had the veal in a lovely white sauce. The veal was a little overcooked but was still really tasty. All in all a good meal.
