Don't miss the Gigot a la Ficelle ("Leg of lamb on a string") for a nice meal and a fun time. The restaurant is near the river, ther'es a pleasant open garden and bar; you are greeted by statuesque and charming women on roller blades who glide around serving a full menu that includes pizzas, all kinds of meat and fish and the usual range of beer, wine and spirits. The specialty legs of lamb hang from a string roasting beside a blazing log hearth. This takes a long time to prepare and you can order in advace by phone (in French). One whole leg is not too much for one person, and the meat is on the stringy side but very tasty, and the accompanying veggies are good (try the manioc). There's a juggling and acrobatics show starting at around 8:45 PM but the rollerblading ladies alone make this a "vaut le voyage".
Very close to the central market, the maquis is full of local people at any hour. You may find it a bit messy, but it's the way it should be. Excellent typical food (ris gras, to' etc..) at a very convenient price!
Not much to say. We only went there once, for lunch, and once person in the group fell ill. Could be a coincidence, but the association stuck with us. There was also a big delay in the food arriving. The service was entirely absent. Mosquitoes everywhere.

OK steaks, indifferent fish. Slow service, but close to a very good hotel (Joly Hotel). The food at the hotel was as good - and cheaper.

OK as a whole, setting original (terrace of a villa) in the trendy / Zone du bois residential are and personnel kind. Specialty is pizza (like more than have a dozen restaurants in Ouagadougou) but might be wise to avoid busy hours in the evening especially towards the end of the week. Since take aways (or take outs) is their core business, be prepared to be VERY patient when deliveries are being looked after while you just ordered...Took us a long time (ran out of pasta) last time I went!

Small restaurant with only 10 or so tables, only does dinner, has a weekly set menu, 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 deserts. Serves delicious African inspired fusion food, with good prices and excellent service. This is not the place however to invite non-adventurous eaters, who may want their roasted chicken or fish soup. The chefs/owners are happy to adapt the dishes on the menu to serve allergies or other food avoidance.I will definitely come to eat here again.

This restaurant is very similar to the nearby Gondwana, having mostly outdoor seating, low tables and decoration around the garden. The atmosphere isn't quite as nice because the Lodge doesn't have a band and the decoration is more simple. However the quality of the menu, the food and the service are much, much better. The menu is French but uses local ingredients in interesting ways and the dishes were really delicious. We had the maple pork and coconut chicken and basically licked the plates clean. Also the food came quite quickly.

I've been here a few times with groups of colleagues. It's a terrific place for a festive group dinner, whether indoors or in the garden. I'd classify the food as good, not extraordinary, but more than balanced by having a really nice, relaxed evening with good service and a varied menu for all to enjoy.

Already experienced on several occurrences in 2010-2011; Quite expensive but really way above average in terms of service, food, atmosphere, in a nutshell: professionalism! One downer, as it the place to ben being very posh and all, the restaurant is often crowded and noisy inside (nice set of tables outside but often warm and swarmed by mosquitoes), especially if there are locals or Lebanese businessmen who enjoy showing off.
