Small frontage which opens up as you go in to reveal half the town having lunch. No nonsense, no choice. 11⬠for four courses including wine and coffee. There are people who eat here every day and unless you are a wallflower, you'll get involved with at least some of them.We had excellent garbure, a selection of fresh crudités, pork chops with superb frites and myrtle sponge with sabayon. The red wine looks frightening but tastes fine. Quantities look excessive but it all seems to go.You used to find this sort of place all over France in the 70âs. Rarer and rarer now, so don't miss it if you're in the area. More than just a restaurant.

Visited with friends and our small baby, they were very accommodating and the food was great some of the best we've had in the area definitely worth a visit.

Brasserie, great food!
I was here on a Thursday evening, it was full on the terrace but the found me a place. I had the duck, a very large plateful arrived with salad and chips. The duck was cooked as I aked (saignant). I had beer and for desert some icecream. There were a lot of locals here which Ususally means a good place.Thank you so much Peter ! See you soon !

The place is not that big but it worth to come for lunch. All is home made and well cooked. With every day a choice of "lunch of the day" vegan or not...

We were visiting Orthez and needed somewhere for dinner. Having looked around the town and found very little (it was a Saturday night) we arrived at La Casa and were looked after very well. There was a good daily menu which we both had. The service was very friendly and the food reasonably priced. We sat outside which was lovely.

The restaurant, above the Corral Bar in Pace d'Armes, has been refurbished by the new owner and is now quite modern in decor. The lighting is perhaps too harsh for those planning a romantic dinner. A few candles would help the ambiance perhaps? There is a small outdoor terrace. We visited on a Friday evening and it was full. Always a good sign in France. The menu is still quite limited, but what is on offer is of an average to good standard. Although there are no strictly vegetarian dishes, they are happy to discuss options. I would think if you visited beforehand, the options would be greater when you arrived. A few visits from our vegetarian friends and family should help. The staff are friendly and courteous and we shall be visiting again.

Bar-Brasserie-Restaurant Complexe sportif: terrain de soccer et de squash Complexe événementiel: concerts, soirées Séminaire
Went there just to listen to a local live group and decided to book a table before going . Having spoken to a member of staff I just knew it would be great . It is a new bar/ restaurant and has a " classy" feel about it , with the bar downstairs and the restaurant upstairs ( plus a squash court in the basement !!! ). Very clean and smart , but staffed by very welcoming people . This continued as we were lead upstairs to the restaurant and handed over to the waiting staff . Everything just got better , very smart restaurant , but again great , friendly staff . The menu was small , but diverse and the food was amazing . The gazpacho (â¬8 )was probably the best I have ever had and brought back memories of over 45 years ago when I first enjoyed it in Marbella . The cote de Beouf ( â¬40 for 2 )was cooked to perfection and the Gascogne red was fantastic and not expensive (â¬14 ) . The cafe gourmand ( â¬6 ) was a delight , with several little tasters , plus great coffee , which is all I had room for . The staff were soo attentive , yet did not " hover ". Returned to the bar to enjoy the live music and the same level of helpfulness was enjoyed from the bar staff . They also do a set menu at lunchtime for â¬14 which I have yet to try , but will soon . Well worth a visit and quite different from any other restaurant I have enjoyed in the area.

Open for lunch and diner (2 different menus). Just be there with us: we'll do our best for you. For you deserve it!
Olivier and his partner made our family group of five feel very welcome. Their English was good and their jokes funny...as well as informative comments on the food on offer. It was very good food too. The charcuterie starter was excellent and the leek tart superb. The main courses, especially the steak topped with delicately fried foie gras, were delicious. The home made puddings are also outstanding. The wine list is good value for money, with the local Le Domain Guilhemas a gorgeous soft red and the sweet white Jurancon ideal as an apéritif The interior is a quirky mix of old and modern, and there is a large outside area ideal for lunches. Orthez is a genuine and interesting French town and this restaurant a real asset. Recommended!
