We arrived in Glion in November by a foggy weather with the summits and sun hidden by the clouds. This is not ideal for a place that is famous for its view on the Leman. The hotel is out of date and cultivates a timeless aspect as if nothing had changed in 100 years. The patron, who honours his guests by his presence is himself of a venerable age. One can meet there American parents come to drop their children in a famous college close to the hotel as well as tourists from the Middle East seeking the calm of the Swiss heights. We are rather modern and the place under the fog was moderately warm to us. The restaurant is in harmony with the hotel: the menu is of infinite choice, the prices are those of a palace. In short, we were not very excited at first about the turn of events. We ordered fish from the lake and a lamb from Sisteron. The good surprise was on the plate: the dishes were extremely well prepared, the sauces in particular, and extremely rich which is rather rare in restraurants nowadays. So the higher price is offset by the quality and size of the portions. The service was correct, without excess. If you want to venture to the wine list, better think to your wallet first and to the extremely steep descent on Montreux which does not tolerate any blood alcohol level. We will come back this summer, with a better view.

Chefs Arnaud and Bertrand are glad to welcome you at the new Buffet de la Gare, a historical place with stunning views over the lake. You will be able to indulge at any time of the day in a tasteful and inventive cuisine and a selection of regional wines.
Went back to this adress after it has changed management !And what a change !!!The food is on a local base, excellent products, perfectly cooked, very nice presentation...The wine list, very original, has nothing but local or regional, or related to thr region entries.Perfect wines, white and red, and at quite reasonable price !Of course, the most exclusive are more expensive, but really worth it !The two cooks are very pleasant and have a philosophy of treating you with the best products, changing quite often !We are sure of going back very soon...!And you...? Run...!

When we checked into the Grand Hotel Swiss Majestic we knew we had to eat at their restaurant with this incredible view. It was a beautiful clear night and the view was tremendous. We started with a salad and had the roast lamb entrée. Both were excellent. For desert we had the pricey but AMAZING dome au chocolat âMajesticâ. As we watch the sunset we had an after dinner drink. This was a dinner to remember. Dear Charley5555,Thank you very much for your so kind review and sharing with me your experience! You canât imagine how helpful and motivated is it. I transfers with very great pleasure your kind marks to our teams and especially to our Chef!I am happy to know you enjoyed your stay in Suisse Majestic and hope to welcome you very soon for another occasion!Warm regards from Montreux,Yana Maillard / Sales Manager& Suisse Majestic team

Welcome to La Brasserie J5! The restaurant is open 7/7 from 8.30am to 11pm, and the kitchen from 11.30am to 10.30pm. In a relaxed atmosphere with slight retro accents and an opening towards the main avenue, I suggest you to discover the dishes from the me
We took a seat outside at 11:05.They open up at 11:00. 5 other people were sitting outside an already drinking coffee. After 5 minutes my wife went inside to ask if it is kind of selfservice or order at the bar or something like that. She was then asked what she wants in a very unpolite way and was told that we can not eat something because the kitchen closes at 11:30. Are you kidding!? They open up at 11:00 and the kitchen closes at 11:30?!We will never visit this place anymore.Dear Sir,Thank you for your review.Unfortunately there has been a huge misunderstanding of your wife, which was probably because of the language barriers. She has indeed come inside after waiting for 5 minutes to ask ironically if it was self service. Our professional waitress then kindly asked her what she could help her with. Our restaurant opens at 08h30 in the morning for coffee but the kitchen only opens at 11h30 and is continuously open until 22h00.The opening hours of the restaurant can be found on the door, windows and online. We are sorry for your experience but we find your comments and review very unfair.Best regards,The Direction

Seriously now, giving this place (only) a 13/20 rating is in no way justified. The setting, the welcome, the service and, above all, the cooking are way above the Gault & Milleau evaluation. The latter especially in relation to the Os à Moëlle, Potté dâescargots, Lapin Tessinoise and the Crème brûlée. There simply is no better. The refined preparation, presentation and exceptional taste are an easy match to what Gault & Milleau rates with near perfect scores elsewhere. Bravo Claudia, Christian and staff. Luckily, you donât need a gourmet guide to promote your restaurant. What really matters is the opinion of customers. And on my evaluation scale you have reached the top. Well done. Keep up the excellent work.

We thought we would treat ourselves and stay in the best hotel in Montreux. We were surprised that the room was small and tired with a rusty shower door which leaked. On arriving we expected and were told there would be water in the room. There wasnât. We wanted to make two decaf coffees there was only one. Three teabags of different types, we like the same tea. The milk was the horrible little containers. No biscuits or fruit without paying. $5 for a very small toblerone or bag of crisps , $19 for a miniature scotch! A rip off !!! I went to reception to ask about the water and was told it would be delivered in the evening. I said there was a trolley outside our door with water and small platters of fruit. I was told this was for rooms who paid $1500 a night ! Us paupers were only paying $440 !!!!!On check in they swiped an extra $100 per night for breakages or extras we may spend. Astonishing !! They told us all hotels now do this. We informed them we had just returned from an excellent NH hotel in Turin who didnât and looked after us superbly offering us soft drinks and snacks on arrival in reception and information about the city. The public areas are very splendid and so was the view of the lake from our room for which we naturally paid more. The restaurants were good if you are ok paying $34 for a club sandwich and $9.50 for a bottle of sparkling water !Obviously this place was not for mere mortals like us. I pointed out we have been better treated in a Holiday Inn. Five star ? Yes a great spa and facilities but very poor customer service.

CTMansRidgefield, Connecticut1141312Pending reviewUnderstatedMontreux Jazz Cafe is among the more casual, less expensive restaurants in the Fairmont Montreux Palace hotel. The restaurant faces the street and is off to one side of the main lobby registration desk. The restaurant is decorated in jazz decor. The menu has a nice variety of local cuisine including fish, meat, and even a burger. Dishes are well prepared and delicious. Expect small surprises. Staff is very attentive. Prices are moderate by local standards. Would dine here again. Many thanks for your kind words describing your recent experience at the Montreux Jazz Café. I am delighted to read that you and your family enjoyed your time with us. I have shared your kind comment with all staff members. It would be a pleasure to welcoming you back to the Swiss Riviera in the not too distant future. Best regards,Cinzia R.Assistante F&B Manager

A lovely place with great ingredients. Having said that there is a real sense of a place that rests on its laurels - perhaps a place that achieved technical excellence but tries too hard to be classic French. Having eaten and travelled extensively for food I cannot say that it blew me away- good but boring. Service efficient but again totally lacking in warmth that would make it superb. Wine recommendations just ok I think more effort would transform this place - for sure I would give it one star but no where near two which is why my rating is average based on the fact that I would expect so much more from a two star

Featuring refined yet relaxed dining spaces, an outdoor terrace and a cocktail bar, MP's BAR & GRILL is the premier grill location in the region. The interior is a consummate fusion of belle époque elegance and arresting contemporary aesthetics, realized
Quite a shame really, the location is spectacular and it certainly gives a luxurious first impression, but the food was quite average for the price range and category itâs in. We had waited a bit for our drinks but that was okay because we were happy to be out and about. We had waited a bit fir our food, too but that was okay until in both my and my wifeâs order something was missing. Not really a problem but the food was only luke warm and by the time our side dishes came the food was tepid. Not so bad i guess but the food wasnât really very good, average would be an honest evaluation. We had wanted to get a bottle of wine as well but when a bottle of Dieter Meierâs âPuroâ ( which is a fantastic argentinian Malbec) was on the card for 85chf that stopped us from ordering. We live here and at a local grocery store the bottle is 17chf so i followed my 3x the price rule. I would have gone up to 65 for it but not 5 times their purchase price.Service was amateurish and i felt that it was a mix of students and moderately experienced wait staff. So to sum it up, the restaurant gives the impression of higher end luxury cuisine and charges for it but only delivers average food and service. I recommend you look elsewhere unless youâre in the hotel anyway and just want to eat without taking a walk. A shame, it could be so much nicer with a more experienced chef and service......Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at MP's Bar & Grill. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. We strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Best regards,Cinzia R.Assistante F&B Manager

Welcome to the Auberge de Chaulin ideally located on the heights of Montreux and enjoying a panoramic view of Lake Geneva, Stéphanie offers you a refined cuisine of season and Christopher welcomes you warmly and advises you local wines to accompany it.
Très Bon!This is what I felt after eating the most tasty and succulent preparation of duck at this restaurant. The accompanying sauce was just delicious. Right from complimentary starters to the main course, everything was perfectly done. Merci Beaucoup for a lovely time. Wishing the owner, a wonderful French couple, great success and happy times ahead.
