Gers was freezing cold, and we needed hot food. Driving through the village we knew nothing about, we saw a restaurant on the side of the road. The welcome was a great smile, a short explanation, couple of Armagnacs to heat the system togetger with a magnificent piece of Fois Gras. Whrn all of it was over came the Cassoulet. A marvel in a borl. It had everything inside, from the seasonal duck, to the pig and sanglier and more. Lively host, great cuisine

After a recent very disappointing local lunch we needed some reassurance and we got it at this delightful restaurant . 7 of us came for the 13 euro lunch .. Mussels to start... Ham with mustard sauce for main course and a delicious dessert of caramel profiteroles with ice cream ( best I've ever had ) .. Litres of red and rose wine and coffee included .Everything attractively presented and prepared .. Served by a delightful waitress . This is heavenly .. Does not break the bank and must be one of the best meals we've had in more than 40 years of touring France . A bit out of the way and opposite a factory/ warehouse but NOT to be missed.

The duck-focused meal at the Ferme du Cassou is a special event. The LaFargues offer a menu-based traditional Gers region meal at their farm. M LaFargue takes care of the service; Mme prepares the bountiful and delicious meals. Upon arrival, guests are served the traditional Gascon aperitif, Floc. The entree is served next (guests have pre-selected), and the preparation of foie gras is perfect. The plat, the main course of duck, comes next. Again, pre-selected from a variety of offerings. Dessert follows, cafe, and all is topped off with some of the Ferme du Cassou Armagnac (which is also excellent). Our mid-day dejeuners lasted some 3+ hours, the meal is hearty but well-paced. We were there twice during our recent stay in Gondrin. If you like duck this is for you. Reservations and menu preselection required. Highly recommended.

We ate on the pleasant terrace of this high street restaurant. My wife had a great plate of gambas while I came over all rustique and went for the cassoulet. I couldn't make a dent on the beans despite labouring away for a good while. Dessert was good and the place is clearly popular with the locals.

We arrived and it was not open. Then after several knocks on the door and standing in the rain for a minute the lady then opens the door. The decor is amusing lots of cows and pictures of New York. We then Order the La Piece de Beouf menu. 32 Euro each. The lady gives us a big bowl of green murky pottage which we must serve ourself! It was awful tasting. We had to put in lots of salt and pepper. The mains was very average. The beef was the best bit! The dessert was terrible. A chocolate biscuit with cream on it. This place is just way too expensive for what they serve. Do not miss the toilet!

Visited this picturesque village and had an excellent lunch in nice setting with friendly staff. The assiette gourmand is an excellent choice at â¬11 if you want a reasonably priced and varied dish (it comprises quiche, salad, meats, cheese and pate) with a choice of 2 desserts included within the price.

Fourcès is a pretty little circular village, and Auberge de Fourcès is a pretty, simple restaurant. We all had the menu of the day...which as I recall cost something like â¬13.50. The entrée was supposed to be crab and salmon, but tasted more like tunafish...only OK. The main course was meat and was quite good. Service was good.A nice quiet restaurant in a pretty, quiet little town, although I suspect it is much livelier in high season. Hard to beat for lunch.
What a pity this fine restaurant is no longer in business. We have very happy memories of a small boy building a tower of ice cream coupes as the adults contemplated a long list of Armagnacs. Later re-named Bernard Daubin, the restaurant had been closed quite some time before we returned in August 2018.

We went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon because several other restaurants in the region were fully booked. The decor didn't impress me at all, very French and impersonal. The waitress was quite enthusiastic in her suggestions of dishes and wines but I felt like I had stepped back in time. The restaurant made me think of the ambiance in the old hotels, not at all a restaurant of this time! The food was good but.... in order to appreciate the food I need a good ambiance so half of my enjoyment was gone! Not a restaurant where we will go again but then the French don't seem to value ambiance so nothing will change any time soon!

I shared my birthday lunch with very special friends over on holiday from Australia.Three of us had the menu du jour which was 14.50 euros. Three courses of absolutely delicious food, especially the main course which was slow cooked lamb with caramelised oranges and prunes, absolutely to die for and the best dish I have had this year.We ate outside under the cloistered arches which was cool despite the searing heat outside.Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. We have had family celebrations and many dinners and lunches in the three years we have been spending summers in the Gers. The service was excellent and the wait staff very helpful, nothing too much trouble.
