I had a Sunday Roast on - really - a Sunday evening and the food was great, although the roast itself was a rather small portion of meat,m greens and potaties. But especially the starters and the desserts were amazing great.Dear Wijtze,Thank you for your kind review! In the future, please let us know when you expected a bit more on your plate. Used to visit this place often when we still lived nearby but in recent years we have been there twice for lunch. Can't find any fault: nice location, friendly and efficient service and great food.The Havixhorst is an old stately home converted into a boutique hotel and restaurant. It is located near a stork sanctuary and hosts some stork families on the chimney tops. Its garden hosts sculpture collections from artists all over the Netherlands.After visiting the sculpture garden we settled in the courtyard and enjoyed an excellent lunch. Highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant with friends who live in Meppel. It is incredibly good value and we had three courses for 14.50 euros. Very good for the price and atmosphere and service excellent.
