We live in these parts and have been wanting to try La Chiesa for some time now. This 14-point Gault-Millau restaurant is located in a beautifully restored church perched on the hillside overlooking Locarno. The Christmas menu included 4 courses (with amuse-bouche starter) - moist fish roulade with truffles, homemade al dente ravioli, juicy duck breast with a vegetable purée, and a nut roulade with homemade gelato to finish. Each dish was perfectly prepared, flavorful and pleasing to the eye. The wine list includes some interesting local choices, the service was friendly and attentive, the view spectacular. Worthy of its rating.

The new chef has changed completely the menu, that now is classical but updated, with some very special recipes. If you like meat, don't miss the fabulous Chateaubriand. Wide and excellent canteen, very nice location, inside or on the pool side. Live music. in the evening.

Exceptional cuisine, deserving of its 14 point Gault Millau status.Everything is fresh and local.Wonderful to eat sophisticated local cuisine at reasonable prices.Home-made pasta was delicious.Service was friendly and efficient.This was the best of 7 different restaurants we tried.
