This is the sister restaurant of the 1 star Michelin La Bonne Ãtape, so we were expecting competent cooking. Service was efficient, however the gin & tonic ordered never arrived. The nougat ice cream was delicious, but this was the only course which was good. The gazpacho was served without garnish, with a film of oil on the surface and was not tasty. The lamb main course was lukewarm and there was string still attached. Other dishes ordered were passable. This did not inspire us to eat at the sister restaurant. Dear Madam, dear Sir, Thank you for taking time to share your experience. This restaurant is a simple bistro where a simple and good cooking is proposed with a choice of good products simply prepared with competent cooking. One may eat from 20 euros to 35 euros. Should one expect a Michelin star service and menu, disappointment would be understandable. I am sorry for the gin and tonic you were not served, and regret you did not feel like eating in La Bonne Etape Michelin starred Restaurant.

Situated in a romantic XVIIIth century coaching inn in Chateau Arnoux on the lavender paths between the French Alps and the Mediterranean, La Bonne Etape is a Michelin-starred restaurant serving sumptuous seasonal food. The historical hotel is surrounded
Truly exceptional dining experience. Warmly welcomed, comfortably seated in pleasant surroundings ( no background music- plus point) and promptly given menus to look at when M.Jany Gleize ( head chef/ proprietor) arrived and we were able to discuss menu and the gardens on site from where many herbs, etc are from. Plus roses/ flowers on the tables. The whole meal was truly exceptional. Accompanied by a St.Joseph we had chosen with the sommelier who was charming and professional ( as were all waiting staff). The whole meal flowed through at a perfect pace, correct quantities and offering a true taste of refined Provençal cuisine. We plan to return and stay again in the hotel. If travelling, this really merits a detour.Dear Sir, All the members of my brilliant team and myself thank you for the words you chose to describe your experience with us. We are really delighted and proud to satisfy your expectations and a little more. Thank you for the recommendation âworth a detourâ which is really something for us. I hope we will have soon the pleasure of welcoming you again, as you planned. (menu will change and propose game in season, but Sisteron lamb will still be there same as Lavender honey ice cream in itâs bee hive) Very best regards Jany Gleize Chef de Cuisine, Maître de Maison

I completed a cycling tour in Alpes de Haute Provence a week ago. On my first day I got lost and happened upon this restaurant. By the time I'd arrived, they were 30m to closing but still allowed me to eat. I had the grilled meat platter and it was honestly the best meal I'd ever had in my life. A salad, house-made andouille, rack of lamb, slice of beef, a grilled tomato with house-made goat cheese, and a baked potato with chive sauce. I ate the entire thing and found my way after.

Great little place - food is an interesting on standard fare. We had tacos and were pleasantly surprised!!! Staff were really friendly so we went back a couple of days later to get some take away - really enjoyed the chicken curry although again not how you would expect it. The chicken was lovely!

The first time we went to eat there, it was just by chance.Whilst from outside, the terrace looks like any other French restaurant with a terrace, it was nicely decorated inside: modern, airy, nice colours.Unfortunately they had run out of the âdish of the dayâ, but what we ordered was very tasty. The staff was extremely pleasant as well as the male owner. We enjoyed the food, the ambiance and the staff so much that we went back there a few days later. Yet again we were not disappointed.Price wise, it was good value for money.

We visited Peyruis in the summer of 2014. This restaurant was a real highlight of our stay. We struggled to get a table initially so booking is definitely recommended. On the occasion that it was fully booked we were able to get take away pizza from the restaurant and wait for our food with drinks. We ate in the restaurant later in the week and before leaving the restaurant had booked to eat with them again on our last night in the town. The owner really made us feel welcome and the food was fantastic. I fully recommend.

We stopped here on the way from Lyon to Verdun. It was very refined and the set menu was a good value. Service was first class but the food makes this place very special. Unfortunately, it was raining that day so we could not enjoy the pretty terrace, but we will definitely be back again.
