Having been recommended to go to Nostradfamus by friends, I went for lunch with my partner and a friend. The restaurant is very spacious and comfortable, occupying what seems to have been an old farmhouse. Tables are set well apart, a log fire burns in the grate and the atmosphere is very relaxing. There is an outside terrace for summer meals. Service by the charming waitress was efficient and friendly. We all chose the set lunch at 19⬠which was preceeded by salmon rillettes and curried popcorn. We really enjoyed the the starter of salmon and asparagus tartlet, then the main course of cannon of lamb with cumin crust, finishing with a delicious chocolate dessert. We all agreed that the standard set by the chef was high for a relatively modest restaurant. With a bottle of Viognier, coffee and apéritifs the bill came to 33⬠per person which we thought excellent value for money. We shall definitely return.

A good way to have a healthy and tasty dinner. It took them around half an hour to prepare our order but the staff was friendly and the juice was great.

The â¬18 set menu for dinner was excellent value. The food was delicious and choices good. The people were very friendly and it has a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant was completely full and they coped well.Situated almost opposite the Ibis hotel and well worth eating there if staying in that hotel.

Inspired by TA we went for lunch here in the picturesque old town, we didn't reserve but arrived at 12.20 and there were still a few tables left but it was full by 1pm; we were probably the only non-locals. This was Wednesday - some shops are closed on this day in Agen; mid-December. Agen has many restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets; this was one of the best â¬16 3-course menus we've had for a long while. Also Cotes de Bruhlois (the local wine) available by the carafe. We chose the warm leek tart, cod and tiramisu; with 75cl wine and coffee came to â¬23.50 each. Superb value. Service spot on - efficient and civil; not over-familiar or intrusive. Tip for parking in Agen - don't bother with trying to find a space in the old town - the streets are narrow and have a labarynthine one-way system. There are plenty of inexpensive spaces on the river-side of Av Gen de Gaulle and a 10 minute stroll up into the old town from there. Thanks for your advice, I hope to see you again in Bistrot Voltaire. Enjoy your trip

We would have enjoyed the dinner here at Saturday, May 7th 2016 ,but we had no chance to do this!We made a fix reservation over the telephone two month ago for this date (because we were in Agen for holiday), we were happy to come here (finding a parking lot is not easy) and THE RESTAURANT was CLOSED! That is very disappointing because of the reservation and the fact that nobody did inform us about the closure.

Graphic, dynamic and creative cooking. Local & fresh products, from "le marché du Chef". Restaurant brilliantly different...
We were a party of 6 travelling with Le Boat on the Canal de Garonne and spent a wonderful evening in the open air and enjoyed good food freshly prepared and great beer and wine. The owner was very friendly and worked incredibly hard to make everyone in the restaurant enjoy their meals.Highly recommended.

Petit etablissement avec peu de table, situé dans le quartier historique de la ville, ambiance cosy. décoration alliant le bois et moderne.
Our evening meal was a delightful experience. The fish courses were especially good. Our hostess was charming and efficient and great trouble was taken with the wine. This was a memorable dinner, even if the magret de canard was slightly below the standard of the rest of the meal.

We had a very good relaxing moment, having great fresh food on a sunny small place outside. Waitress was gentle, cooks/ chefs excellent and yet humble. In a word or a hundred : whenever you want a quiet moment to share good French food on a summer meal, just go there!
