Everything about Le Potager works well. The decor is well coordinated whilst feeling relaxed, the eating spaces are busy but not cramped (choose the rear garden under a huge fig tree if possible), the staff are friendly and very helpful and, most importantly, the food is excellent. The menu is not huge, thank goodness, and the choices of grilled meats and fish and vegetables are wonderful. The homegrown tomato menu is also worth a try for starters, as is the pigs trotter terrine. From starter to pudding, everything was beautifully flavoured and fresh, and the Le Potager Syrah and Chardonnay were a great match and very reasonable. We paid â¬208 for 5 people, aperitifs, starters, mains, puddings and 2 bottles of wine, great value for this quality. And the best bit is the overall experience, relaxed, unpretentious and well fed!

Very nice place with a beautiful sunset view on the bay and good food. Nice menu with seafood, including squid cooked in all different ways. Polite staff and good service. Nothing very exceptional but decent.

A small, modern restaurant, pleasantly decorated. We received a warm welcome and were happy to take the daily midday menu.A good, honest meal - a nice salad with serrano ham, followed by a really tasty duck leg and a tarte aux pommes for dessert. Ameal for two, with a demi of red wine and coffee for under 35 euros? Who could possibly complain. We had more than sufficient, served quickly and without fuss. I would happily return and try something more adventurous next time.

Be sure to book, as this place clearly knows its limits and does not cram in too many people. They have space to add more tables, but do not compromise their friendly and relaxed service by being too busy. The menu has a good choice of local classics and there are a number of set priced deals which give good value. I had a starter of mixed St Jaques/Moules which was very large, followed by a thick entrecôte, both of which were delicious. All our party of 6 felt that they had been very well fed, and all enjoyed the atmosphere, eclectic decoration and happy interaction with Madame. Price for 6 with wine and aperitifs was 200 euros.

It is good to find an place that has a simple speciality and does it well. The burgers are very tasty and generous. I'm not wild about chips, but theirs are excellent, made curly, thin and with skins on so there is more flavour and texture. The whole menu is unpretentious, with only about 10 main choices, no entrees, and deserts are glacés or (I think) bought in gateaux. Meal for 4 with 4 burgers, 3 gateaux, bottle of red, 2 beers and a soft drink was 91 euros. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fish, music and grillades
About 20 years ago we stayed in La Franqui when it was a sleepy little beach resort at the end of a small road. It is has expanded (obviously) but this restaurant has appeared which is a big plus. We, a family of 8 ate there at lunchtime and were all delighted with the quality and variety of the food, with excellent seafood options but also some good choices for those like me who prefer meat. Thoroughly recommended, and I guess even more attractive for those who like their brand of music at evenings/weekends.

We spent two weeks travelling through France and our lunch here was the best meal of the trip. Everything was perfect: the outdoor setting was so tranquil and laid back, service was attentive, and the food was fresh and delicious. We ordered a bunch of things to share including mussels, sardines, and oysters, and had a hard time deciding which dish was our favourite as it was all good. After our meal we visited the shop and bought some fleur de sel and garlic salt to bring home -- excellent and tasty souvenir!Highly recommend coming here for a great meal in La Palme.

Le Comptoir was recomended to us by the camping recepcionist close to this restaurant and indeed worths a visit. The food was great, the service quick and friendly, nice decor and general atmosphere quite positive. At the end, prices weren't too high and we left quite happy and pleased. If in the surroundings again, this is a place to return and we recomend a visit without any doubt.

Since the restaurant opened at the end of March 2017 we have eaten there seven times, both with friends and as a couple. It is a pure delight to have a restaurant of this quality in the village. The husband and wife team who own and run the restaurant are professional and have developed a winning formula. Excellent fresh, tasty, local produce, cooked by an obviously well trained and talented chef (Fabien) complemented by wines of the region - what is there not to like. Front of house Anais remembers your aperitif favourites and the style of wine you prefer as well as any food preferences you may have. All served in a light, bright, contemporary setting. The main menu changes monthly and consists of 3 starters (meat, fish and vegetarian) 5 main courses (2 meat, 2 fish and a vegetarian) 3 deserts and a cheese plate. The lunchtime menu is good value and varies every day.If you are lucky enough to be in this part of the world and looking for a first class restaurant at a very affordable price - try it - you won't be disappointed.
