With the arrival of TOOTH TOOTH in one of Kobe's oldest and most historical cultural properties; the Old Kobe Residency 15th Hall has been reborn again. You can enjoy fine French cuisine with carefully selected ingredients from the Kobe region. TOOTH TOOT
We were a group of four... I the only non-Japanese, all aged 50+ and dressed well. I had always enjoyed this restaurant before and still have a good relationship with one of the managers, since I also frequent the other Tooth Tooth locations. Several years ago, this branch was still good, but the customer service has grossly deteriorated. For example, despite my being a regular customer, the service staff did not make eye contact with me at all... each time the staff made eye contact with the three Japanese guests I brought. Even when I asked questions in Japanese, the staff turned to look at my Japanese friends for the answer, and they did not feel comfortable with it either. Then, as the elder manager came (we did not summon him) to bring us the main course, he mechanically explained the dish (he did manage eye contact briefly, but it didnât feel welcoming) and walked off even as one of my friends (a 78-year old) tried to ask him a about the drink menu. We each called to the manager as he walked off and the table next to us even tried to assist with a hand gesture, but it did not work. We also lacked adequate explanation of the entire course we ordered itself, as two of us were not clear that the bread would not come with olive oil or butter. When we asked for butter, we were just told âitâs already baked inâ. The bread was fine without butter, but the manner of explaining was not satisfactory. On the positive side, the environment is still lovely, and the main dish retains the same high quality. But you donât just come for the taste... you come for the whole experience. This place used to be at least a 4 or 5 star rating on this site with full confidence. Sadly, not anymore. I hope the original kind and welcoming manager exerts influence to restore the warmth and good service this place once had. Until then, I wonât be returning, nor will those I use to take with me.

In case of restaurant in Japan, hole style is uncommon, however here is that like abroad. Wide open floor with tables are available. Atmosphere of the floor is great with night view from window under indirect lighting. Price is expensive, but it is acceptable compared with restaurant in Europe. Price in Japan is relatively reasonable. One choice of business dinner here is as well.

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary meal as my wife had been there for lunch. The location is lovely, a beautiful old 'colonial' style house with wood panelling throughout. Staff are wonderful, attending to every last detail and the food is beautifully presented, and very nicely cooked. It's reasonable for the price (about JPY5,000 each for a five course set meal) and as it was our special occasion we were given an extra dessert and souvenir photo and a rose for my wife. Lovely, highly recommended.

I am staying at the hotel for a weeks holiday around Japan and decided to dine at this restaurant. I was glad I did. The service was exceptionally friendly and polite with the waitress always making sure you were taken care of. The food was outstanding and really cooked to perfection. It is really high quality food and meals that they have on offer. The ambiance of the restaurant was quiet and relaxing with stunning views over Kobe area with the lights of the city glittering in the distance. I would highly recommend this restaurant if staying at the hotel. It does help to speak a little Japanese. I find that if you make an effort to speak the language then things are just that fraction better. There was no rush to leave the restaurant but as I did the waitress had the bill ready to sign for on my room account as well as having the lift ready and open for me after I signed. It was the small touches of friendly service that made this a memorable restaurant to dine at that added to the quality of the food.

Without doubt one of the best restaurants in Kobe in every regard. Food was delicious and exquisitely presented, service was impeccable, wine list diverse and well priced and ambience sophisticated but friendly. We have dined here both for lunch and dinner and for special occasions. We never cease to be impressed ! A real gem in Kobe!

A very good French cuisine from a Japanese chef with lots of experience in fine dining who decided to open his own place. I just went there for the week-end lunch menu, the food is inventive, delicious, fresh and extremely tasty. As always, the service in this type of French restaurant in Japan is a bit overbearing as I prefer to ask about a dish rather than have it explained in details before letting me eat it... The wine list is extensive and wines by glass were excellently chosen while remaining reasonable in price. I will definitely go again for dinner to try a more extensive selection. Not a place for every day casual meals of course but for a special occasion, it might well be one of the best French restaurants around ! I checked while writing these few words and Michelin has already granted 1 star, well deserved !

Cafe terrasse de paris is one of the best French restaurant Kobe has . Been there with my Chinese friend from shanghai recently . We were so impressed by their real Kobebeef for diner . Many of you think that Kobe beef is only served at Japanese restaurant but that's not the case here . We entered the restaurant on Saturday evening during jazz street festival in Kobe . The shop was almost full and our reserved table on the terrasse was kept especially for us . Friendly staff guided us to the table and soon comes the wine list menu . Opted for two glasses of champagne to start and then ordered the luxury full course diner after confirming with the staff that what we want is just a real Kobe beef for diner , price does not matter . We ordered the 8 000 yen full course which came with appetizer and chef special salade straight from their garden and stylish Foie gras sauté with plenty of veg and by the time we finished the first glasses of bottled wine . Fish of the day was served on Time and about 20 minutes later . Grilled Kobe beef was served with viggies. And real French bread. The only difference with Japanese restaurant is that the chef is not cooking right infront of you . And instead of rice the beef is served with bread . This was a delight because Kobe bread is so popular in Japan any way occording to the staff further more the quality of the beef was one of the best meat I have ever had ,it was so juicy and melt in my mouth like never before . What a great experience thanks to the friendly staff and profressional skills of the chef . Bravo for the whole team. This place deserves a Michelin staff in my opinion a great found and all the staff were so helpful and spoken English at ease . Love cafe terrase and definitely go there again soon Thank you for visiting us at Cafe Terrasse de Paris. It was a pleasure to serve you, and we are very happy that you enjoyed your meal and time with us. I give it a 2 star as the manager didnât charge us any of it but I need to tell the truth about this place! First of all it was nice seating, the manager was very friendly but the food was just wrong, we ate the first 2 as we were so hungry but once the lasagna arrived we just couldnât take it anymore! Was just soooo bad that I had to tell him, I was soooo disappointed that even the chef come out arguing with me! It tasted curry lasagna, it looked dry, they even put pesto on top! Come on, who puts pesto on top of a lasagna? I just told the manager that I am very sorry but I couldnât eat there anymore & that his food was so bad that I needed to leave! I felt bad but I am a foodie & I just couldnât help it! Thank you for visiting us at Cafe de Paris, and your feedback as well.We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your time spent with us.We are be working on improvement so we can have the pleasure of serving you again in the future.
