De meeste gerechten zijn niet duur en wel lekker. Finesse is het niet maar toch smakelijk. Interieur is gezellig en druk. We gaan er wel nog terug. Ze zijn heel vriendelijk maar niet echt professioneel.

There are quite a few places to choose from so called in really on the off chance as we were walking by. Very pleasant staff (spoke English) orderd beer, coffee and shared a Toasted Boum Boum. This is basically a ham and cheese toasties with a side of bolognese and a side salad plus coleslaw. Sounds a weird combo, but was plenty for 2 and tasty lovely. Worth a try if you are walking by.

We found it extremely difficult to find a restaurant that opened for breakfast in Ypres. After walking around for half an hour we discovered Bistro En Haut which is above a local Spar.What a find. Beautiful cooked breakfast. Wasn't cheap at 16 euros but it was something special all beautifully presented. (Bacon, scrambled eggs,sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, fried bread, tomato). One of our party had a continental breakfast. Again beautiful (croissants, rolls, ham, cheese, fresh fruit juice).We were told only 2 places open for breakfast in Ypres - Mimi's and Bistro En Haut. Service was fabulous so friendly and helpful (total opposite to Vivaldi Restaurant - the waitress there was so unwelcoming -see my review).Definitely recommend.Hello anne, Thank you for your nice comment! We discovered the decouverte in their new location: very open and full of light.A correct welcome by the hostess.We have taken the lunch menu with four people.There was enough time between the different menu courses, which were all light and very tasty. Do not expect to come to the edge filled bowls but they will serve you delicious and excellent dishes!The only downside was that there was a lot of wind in the place we had. Whatever the reason for this, we have not been able to find out.Otherwise nothing but praise for both the restaurant and the kitchen.

Avoid this place, had a bad steak and not cheap, very noisy and crowded, bad ventilation, would not recommendDear A.,I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with us.Could you please inform us what exactly was wrong with your steak as non of our staff have received a similar complaint the last couple of days and no one has send a steak back to the kitchen?Your remarks about the noise and that is was crowded can be correct as business is quite well.The bad ventilation is also a bit doubtful as we have a state of the art air conditioning system with 8 adjustable units.We do appreciate all feedback but it is much easier for us to address these issues if you come forward with them during your visit. Brilliant set menu with intricate and astonishing bits and pieces. Charming attention,particularly la Patronne but wine included in menu was not pleasing. Four glasses of run of the mill wine for sixty euros added on menu for two is not on. Otherwise great. But you pay for it.
