What a great find!! If you are in Helsinger (the home of "Hamlet's Castle") its a must visit. This is gourmay food served along side a great wine list, which has somethig for everyone, and all the wines I sampled were of top quality.. The owner is Dean Harvey an Englishman with a good knowledge of wines and not only his. My wife and I were treated to a gastronomic delight and would certainly recommend this well run eatery to anyone. Oh, and it has bags of style, situated on the yatch marina with great views of the sunset.HiThank you so much. We are so happy to hear you had a great experience with us and appreciated the food and ambiance of our restaurant. Ate here with my art travel group en route to Louisiana Art Museum. Gillelege is a charming little village on the northern coast. This modest facade doesnât reveal the wonderful food within. We had a three course lunch that began with a tomato gazpacho accompanied by excellent bread, butter and a sun-dried tomato spread followed by an arrangement of roasted root vegetables on a bed of parsnip puree (veg version), or with lamb. Also excellent. Dessert was a vagan chocolate cake with a berry topping. Caused swooning. If you are in the neighborhood, do not miss this restaurant. Thanks for your visit in my restaurant..hope to you again Michael

Classic Danish and French cuisine in a historical building.
A very sweet guest house in a small town hosted by a sweet couple. With a comfy and relaxing atmosphere, decorated with funny little collection. I love how restaurant with small menu but everything well executed and served with generous portion. An impressive wine list to follow. I can recommend a day or 2 trip to this small sweet town, warm day at the beautiful beach and a satisfying dinner here. A perfect ending of a great day! Thank you for the lovely review. We are happy that you enjoy the stay with us and also the food. We hope to see you again soon:)
Our vision is to create a place that includes everything that Hornbæk stands for, we want to create a gastronomic gathering place, with a world-class Danish lunch restaurant, in the hot months a brasserie in the evening, and a bar with delicious lounge mu
We were immediately pleased with the clean comfortable decor and pleasant waiters. We had fish (2 kinds) with a mix of vegetables, salads and potatoes - all very delicious and good quality. The wine was also good and did not dent out pocket. We were too full to order dessert this time but I am planning on going back soon!

The restaurant is a tiny cottage in the middle of Hornbaek, not on the seashore but a little bit hided. The service is very good, quickly seated and served with smile and collaboration in understanding the recipes. The quality of the ingredient is good, meat and fish are more than fine and also the children's menu is ok (suggested the Frikadelle - Danish fish balls tastefull and ok for kids)The food is cooked very well, and very well presented - good point the sauces are seprated and so you can adjust by yourself. The only negative point is that the menu is not so long, only few recipes, but all are very, very good.Strongly suggested for a taste of the Danish recipes

antastic event with dinner and music! We visited end September when Rugsted and Kreutzfeldt did their fabulous concert! The dinner was tasty, a very good menu - but much, much too little. We were four grownups, and we had to ask for bread for the main course (two very thin sliced of meat, and the smallest portion of potato gratin ever seen), just to get something extra to eat. We all went to bed hungry, but loved the music and the concept!
