Beach bar and bistro. Phone 02 33 47 22 72.
We had read about La Cale in a newspaper cutting given to us about 2 years ago but never managed to get there until this summer. It is an unassuming 'shack' on the beach front just outside Blainville-sur-Mer. We arrived at a good time - 12 noon, as within 5 minutes of us getting there all the tables were full of customers ordering food. When you get there don't be put off by the seemingly dis-organised approach - alot of its appeal and charm - its quirky from the furniture to the art work! You find a table and then go to the till where you will be handed a menu and a form to complete with your food choices - its that simple. Once completed you take it back tot the till where your food is ordered. Drinks are available with your meal and this, for us, was the only slight negative - the price was we felt quite steep and selection was a little limited, especially for beers. We sat overlooking the beach from inside the building - but many were sat at the tables scattered in the sand dunes. Once your food is ready they bring it out - shout your number and off you go! Food was amazing - 3 of us had Moules Frites (E13.50) and 2 had Saussison Frites (E10.50) - cooked on the inside BBQ. All in all for 5 of us the bill was E85 - and has to be cash, so overall not a bad price! During the meal a jazz band was playing which added to the fantastic experience. All in all a superb lunch followed off by a lovely walk on the beach - would we return - 100% yes! Bring on 2019!

Family of ten were well looked after. The staff could not be more helpful. The food was excellent. All in all well worth a visit.

Come and enjoy the view of sea , have a drink with some tapas at the bar enjoy seafood or fishing returns but also our barbecue terrace feet in the sand with friends or family and to animate your evenings concerts will be offered throughout the year.
We went to Les Dunes 3 times, during the low season, but it was nearly full everytime. The restaurant is excessively well placed, in the dunes - hence its name! - overlooking the beach and the sea.Itâs more of a bistro than a traditional restaurant, exactly what you expect to find on the beach.Simple tables and chairs, as i was told there is quite a lot of in-and-out during the summer season. The menu is limited, and mostly about fish and seafood, yet proposes enough choice for everyone and also a couple of meat-based dishes.Quality is excellent, very tasty, perfect size portions and service fast.I recommend the âmoules marinièresâ, they are excellent! We went 3 times so far and were never disappointed. We were twice lucky to have a table by the window (we booked), so we could enjoy the sunset over the sea.The second time was in the evening and there was a live band, and the atmosphere was brilliant. We loved the place!

L'Athome is situated in an old presbytery in Heugevil le sur Sienne. Here interesting food is served by friendly and attentive staff in elegant surroundings.

We were on our way from Brittany to Normandy and were looking for a place for lunch. Popped-in here accidentally, as everything around was closed, it was a Monday. We were nicely surprised - lunch formula for 11 Eur: galette bretonne complete, glass of cider and a sweet crepe. Too good to be true! Absolutely recommended.

We are oyster farmers and have created a tasting counter live from our oyster shed site. Come and taste Père Gus's Oysters and other seafood in an exceptional setting!
This is a small place where you can taste, eat and buy oisters right from the sea.It is an agreable place. The man who served us was very nice and told you all you want to know about oisters. We had six oisters plus one free. They were absolutely fresh and delicious.A place you cannot pass without having oisters provided you like them. The white wine which accompanied the oisters was excellent. Fumee blanch from Cotes de Gascongne.Of course some fresh bread too.

Salicorne offers a good range of meat and vegetable dishes and a very good value Decouverte menu alongside the A la carte. The oueuf de poule croustillant was not the best contemporary egg dish I had on this short break to the Brittany/Normandy borderlands but it was still very good quality. The poulpe was cooked to perfection and shamed my previous attempts to achieve a similar texture on the bbq. The fraises du pays was beautifully presented. There were a few very minor qualms, such as why when asparagus is so plentiful in the market, it was not available and so knocked out a starter without an alternative on offer. Similarly, when I asked for a substitute for the tempura cauliflower, I was offered mashed potato which already featured in my dish. Finally, though the restaurant was empty when we arrived, I didn't appreciate being offered what was patently the most compromised table on the premises, though I concede that is common restaurant practice. All in all, a very respectable meal which, if I was able to offer a more granular score, I would give Salicorne 3.75 blobs.

While the restaurant is inland and so lacks the fantastic beach views of some competitors we were impressed by this small, husband and wife restaurant. The menu of the day included 3 main course options, each dish freshly cooked and high quality. The largest fish portion in 4 ,days in Pirou. Piping hot and tasty.Good value, especially if you keep to the set menu and a very good village alternative if staying in the area.Recommended.

When I looked online and saw the menu, I couldn't believe the prices. A Michelin starred lunch at â¬25? The same price as the bistro 5 minutes away?No reason not to book! Finally we went for dinner and the 5 course tasting menu. Fresh flavors. 5 courses with plenty to eat without feeling stuffed at the end of the meal. True, there aren't tons of side veggies as some have noted, but there is more than enough to eat.And the bread... Homemade, with homemade butter, jams, chutneys, salts, honeys... Yes, I could have made a meal of the bread but then I would certainly have felt stuffed. The service is top of the line. Michelin gave them a star, so nothing surprising. The silverware is surprising and pleasant.A lovely dinner,Thank you so much to the entire teamMerci pour ce si gentil commentaire qui nous encourage tant.C'était un grand plaisir de vous servir et j'espère vous revoir bientôt.Bien cordialementNadia HArdy
