The Rooftop Bar of Martinique Cocktails bar from tuesday night to saturday night Wine bar on monday evening Open for lunch (Monday to friday).
Le Cloud is one of my favorite places in Martinique. But I had to earn it when I first came. It was a real assault course to get to the place at the top of a banal building in the middle of a no manâs land. But that what great when I eventually reached the roof top terrace ! A hot spot with a striking urban view of Fort de France, its harbor, its industrial surroundings. I decided to sit at the bar before getting a high table and enjoy a Tokay wine evening. The other times I decided to relax on a cozy sofa in a discreet corner. I could look below at the bikers challenging each other on Aliker Stadium parking lot. For dinner ? a plate of buffalo cheese with tomatoes and smoked ham. Or a seafood platter with ceviche, rillettes of marlin and smoked tuna. With a glass of Muscadet.Itâs worth insisting on going to Le Cloud.

How did an authentic Portuguese restaurant finds it way to Martinique? Go figure! But its the real deal. Tucked away on the Avenue Frantz Fanon near the Bellevue Catholic Church; this eatery delivers. Not fancy by U.S. standards; it is clean, it offers an air conditioned dining room and agreeable staff. Maria, the Portuguese owner, has a winning smile and golden touch. Her Petite Tonneau offers a welcomed break from the monotonous Caribbean cuisine. Escargots, Frog legs, Duck, Kidneys, steaks and so much more. I'm all about the escargots. They are as good as what you might find at Paris' Chez Eux --- wonderful butter and garlic sauce to sop up with bread. My favorite main dish is the "Bacalhau A Gomes De Sa" or Salt Cod, Onions and Potatoes. Its really a very hearty meal that is quite unique (and I'm not crazy about fish).Salt cod has been produced for at least 500 years, since the time of the European discoveries of the New World. Before refrigeration, there was a need to preserve the cod; drying and salting are ancient techniques to preserve nutrients and the process makes the cod tastier. Maria tells me that they have to soak the fish for at least 48 hours and change the water out at least 4 times. The dish is served with caramelized onions, diced baked potatoes in a delicious glaze and the wonderful cod in an indescribable sauce. They also have a wonderful Portuguese dessert you must order at the beginning of the meal. I can't remember its name. Its terrific! Its a good value for what you get; try it, I think you'll love it.

I had invited some clients and colleagues at Haroldâs based on its reputation. I passed through uninviting surroundings of Riviere Roche, I reached a remote shopping area and turned into a shabby pedestrian way in the middle of concrete blocks. I wondered with some concern what kind of restaurant I would find. What a pleasant surprise ! Haroldâs interior decor was modern and cozy, staff were friendly. In the limited menu we found refined creative meals inspired by Creole and French fusion cuisine. Like a tasty marlin tartar, a perfectly cooked tuna micuit and a fluffy brioche French toast. We drank traditional Planteurâs Punch and a bottle of fruity Saumur.Unfortunately we had to wait too long between courses. Its lousy environment aside, it was Haroldâs only weakness.

Restaurant, grill , bar. Ambiance conviviale dans un jardin. Cuisine francaise et produits martiniquais. Concerts le jeudi soir. Portable interdit !!! Le Babaorum a fete ses 19 ans et son equipe accueille toujours avec le meme plaisir et bonne humeur vos
Le Babaorum was a refreshingly casual place for some good French food. Answering cell phones in the restaurant not allowed or they'll bring you Champagne that you'll be charged for...guess it's their way of helping you forget the outside world while you're there.

We were on a private tour for 12 Americans that included a walking tour of the historic area of Fort-de-France and a visit to Balata Gardens. Having lunch at La Luciole was a great way to finish the tour. They have both a fixed price (25E) menu as well as ala carte. Most of our group did the fixed price. The food was very good and the servings were larger than expected. The only down sides were that the wait staff had limited English proficiency (fortunately we had a multi-lingual guide) and getting the final bill took longer than we expected (in our waitress' defense, the place was full and staff was stretched). However, the setting next to the garden is very nice so it was easy to relax and enjoy the weather and the atmosphere.

We went to The Yellow for lunch today. We had the marlin tartare (good) and scallops (phenomenal) for entries and veal shoulder (very good) and poireaux fish (exceptional) for mains. Both the veau and fish were menu features and very good value at 12 euros each. This restaurant has the cooking technique down pat and while there was only one server to handle bar and table service he did it graciously and professionally. Recommend highly.

Kay Ali has a quaint but quite classy ambiance. The service was very good...friendly staff...food was very timely.Food options were specific to 2 or 3 options per night to choose from. Had both the steak and fish and both were excellent!!! The desserts were truly divine.
XO Bistro is a modern Brasserie, located in front of the local market and the beach in the beautiful city of Le Diamant. It opens from 9am to 10pm 6/7 in an industrial & rustic setting, at the same time modern and comfortable: Brunch until 11:30, the rest
