What a little piece of magic! Touring we stopped here for lunch and had just the nicest time - stunning view for six tables perched on a balcony- freshly prepared meals were perfect and service spot on. So simple so good - if your passing do stop here. There is bar and inside tables too.Alongside is shop selling local "rustic" produce.

Porto has a ton of charm, but early May some of the dining establishments are only thinking about opening. The drive to Ota is a joy, parking requires planning and execution, and if you park early, the first restaurant you come upon is Chez Marie. I chose a view seat out to the canyon indoors and a bottle of 2012 red from an area not too far away. The house terrine I ordered was very good with lots of different ways to be consumed by the accompaniments. The boar dish was what I was hoping for, deep and rich and done perfectly. The manager or owner that had seated me had turned me over to a nice woman and the other diners that had come in were good entertainment, especially the hiker woman with her asian husky. Just a really satisfying dining experience, great execution and value, good people.

The bar doesn't look up to much from outside, and the menu is pretty straightforward, but the charcuterie plate was the best we tried in Corsica. The coppa ham and salamis were absolutely delicious and seemed to be from local producers. Friendly, straightforward service and decent prices.

Restaurant pizzeria dans un moulin à huile ancien. Cuisine corse, méditerranéenne, les végétariens y trouveront eux aussi leur bonheur
The amazing part about Corsica is that you can dive in the sea in the afternoon and eat mountain food in the evening. Located in a mountain village nearby Porto (20 minutes by car), this restaurant serves very good local food, and especially meat (such as wild boar). The meals are simple but very tasty. Portions are not very large though but the service is actually very good with a family-like atmosphere. If you have time, try to come a little bit earlier to enjoy the sunset in the village (which offers magnificent views).

We stayed at the hostel which was nice, and opted for the deal with dinner and breakfast for 25â¬. Breakfast was just a filter coffee and a croissant. Dinner was fine but very basic. We had no choice and were served a vegetable soup, meat with polenta then a chocolate mousse. It wasn't bad food but the experience was more like a school dinner in a cantine than a restaurant.

Lunched here rather than in Port,o the nearby seaside extension of this village where tourists gather in large numbers. Out of the way in the hills, this family restaurant offers traditional charcuterie and suckling pig that was tender and delicious all from local farms.Family run, frequented by residents and reasonably priced.

We set out early from Porto towards Evisa, through the Gorges de la Spelunca, so as to avoid unnecessary traffic. We chose to find breakfast on the route. It was a beautiful drive, all to ourselves. The drive took much longer than our navigation had suggested so we were starving by the time we reached Evisa. A Rimpianata was exactly what we needed. The mushroom omelette was excellent and we stocked up on some chocolate croissants for the road. The friendly lady spoke no English, but understood all our needs wonderfully. She was so willing to please and we appreciated her brilliant service. The location is beautiful and peaceful.

Halfway up the climb of the Col de Vergio sits A Funtanella in Evisa. My biking mates had already ordered coffee by the time a rode in. Pleasantly sited on the town square A Funtanella offers coffee and baked goods. A pig was being roasted as we sat, but we had another 10 miles of climbing.

Even if we hadn't just completed a long uphill walk to Evisa I think this place would've hit the spot. Extremely tasty wood-fired pizzas, served by friendly staff in a scenic position. Prices are very fair; overall a great experience. Highly recommended.

We're recommended by our hotel in Porto to eat at the Chataigneraie, but when we turned up it was closed. A young girl working there told us about the Bar de la Poste and we were not disappointed Would thoroughly recommend if you are passing.
