Accueil catastrophique serveuse mâchant vigoureusement son chewing-gum - attendons plus de 20 minutes pour commander un apéro - buffet digne d'une cantine Bref sans aucun interet

Me and my wife visited the restaurant on a rainy evening and left smiling. The menu is rich with classic and local selections, the wine list includes several local wines. The food is well prepared and honors the region.

Came here without reservation around 21 o'clock (9 PM), the waitress welcomed my husband and I warmly with a smile. The place is spacious & very beautiful.I ordered Bouchée à la Reine with chicken & mushroom on creamy sauce inside and around it (see photo). I got a huge bowl of fresh salad to eat with & if I'm not mistaken it's refill as you wish. I wish I can eat more than this huge bowl but I was not hungry after I finish eating my Bouchée à la Reine & this salad!Bouchée à la Reine is a round flaky pastry about 10cm of diameter (sometimes called Vol-au-Vent).My husband ordered Flà mmeküeche (Tarte Flambée) with some meat on it, which was also delicious (I tried a small piece). For dessert he ordered also Flà mmeküeche with Apple & Cinnamon on it. It was HEAVENLY DELICIOUS!

Great restaurant (the only one in Osthouse) ! The chef (Jean-Philippe Hellmann) creates dishes on a quite high level and they are not only presented very well, but they taste just great ! The service is nice and the choice of dishes offers something for everybody.

After a delecious seasonal pumpkin soup as appetizer we had an "entree" of fois gras, liver and scallops on salad. It's a signature combination of M Kalt and tasted excellent. After an interlude of a Cremant sorbet this was followed by his special of the day, a wolffish on lobster sauce. The fish was done perfectly, the sauce seemed to be a bit on the spicy side- sort of peppery. Nevertheless a memorable experience. As accompaniment we had a local dry Riesling. Dessert included a creme brûlée and a great tiramisu with fig sorbet. M Kalt provided a delicious pear eau-de-vie (Becht) to round off the culinary delight. Overall it's been another top rate experience- the second time we've been here. Will come back!

Driving back north from Freiburg, we decided to get off the Autobahn to avoid further traffic jam and left the A5 at Kappel, through the village to the river Rhine, a four minute free auto-ferry to France and then directly turned onto the D20 in the direction of Strasbourg, parallel to the river. After just a couple of miles the road turns left to the direction of Erstein and after the roundabout approaching the village Krafft, it is the second road to the right. This rue des Muguets will lead you directly to the Auberge. We went there for lunch on a Friday and the place was crowded with locals. The service was okay, but be aware that they don't speak or understand English, so you better exercise on your French (intertwined with some German words is okay in this area, it is Alsace). The 'couvert' with bread is inviting and the food that came (salad of warm goat cheese with nuts, the salade Périgourdine with foie gras, smoked ham, smoked salmon, a rather big cordon bleu with Munster cheese and the 'saumon et sandre' fish dish, a great combination of these two fishes) was just amazingly delicious. We couldn't try something from the inviting wine list because we had to drive, but will certainly do so next time. Because we will absolutely go back again whenever we are in the area of Alsace or southwestern Germany (it is just 20 minutes drive from Strasbourg).

After visiting the Wurth museum, we stopped by this restaurant because of the good reviews from other travellers, otherwise we probably would not have noticed it: it's a bit out of the way and from the outside it's nothing special. However, I must admit that we have not been disappointed at all by the food, which was really good (I particularly liked the fried polenta with my scallops, which is a rather unusual choice in France). The service is also very friendly and efficient - we appreciated to be warned that the chocolate fondant would take 15 minutes (freshly made! go for it if you like chocolate, or for the fruit salad if you prefer something lighter for the diet, the lemon cake on the other hand was nice but the biscuit was a bit hard). Special thanks to the cook, who knows how to convey his enthusiasm for cooking!

We booked in advance a table through the internet contact form and it worked well.Beautiful traditional building, we got a table on the first floor from 1 corner. We chose one of the 2 menu with local specialities (foie gras, lamb, escargots, steak). The steak was only ordinary, while the rest of the food was really fantastic.Excellent deserts as well.We ordered a local red wine which was recommended and we enjoyed it.We realised that most of the local people visit the restaurant for the tartes flambées.The service was excellent and very friendly, got a little slow when 3-4 tables ordered amazing amounts of tartes flambées.
