I always go to the streets behind the main sea front, here you find the restaurants who cannot rely on passing trade alone. They have to cook themselves a reputation. L'Ancre is one of these places. The food is interesting in concept, beautifully cooked and presented in a delightful way. A great choice, I had kangaroo, but there is a whole range of meats and fish to select. The restaurant itself has a great ambiance and the bill a delight after such a wonderful meal. A must visit if you find yourself in this beautiful France town

Found this restaurant by chance located up a side street just off the main restaurant strip? The set meal at lunchtime we chose the cheaper option of 2 choices per course it was superb using really fresh ingredients that were beautifully presented and a delight to eat, this was a first rate lunch with excellent service - the staff spoke English and fully explained the menu to us.This friendly relaxed and professional restaurant fully deserves the excellent reviews from Trip Advisor and long may it continue.

New restaurant in Concarneau - just fantastic
This is definitely fine dining but in a relaxed environment. Their 30 euro menu is incredibly good value for three courses plus an amuse bouche. We chose the fish options and were amazed by the presentation and imagination. The ravioli stuffed with oyster accompanying the hake was fantastic. Unusual desserts, too. The wine is not cheap but very well chosen as one would expect from an establishment of this calibre. We would go again.

Having family who live nearby we have been frequenting Concarneau over many years and this small quaint family run creperie just off the road that runs alongside the port, remains a favourite. From the familiar warm friendly welcome from the owner - who makes all the crepes herself - to the quick efficient service ensures you hardly wait for your delicious crepes to arrive. There is wide selection of Crêpes de Blé Noir (savoury) and Crêpes de Froment (sweet); favourites include the creamed mushroom, goats cheese and tomato; and my son's cheese, ham, tomato and chorizo one was truly decicious. All washed down with tasty local cider before moving onto the sweet crêpes. Very good value. It is now possible to reserve a table which for a small restaurant may be necessary in the high season if you wish to avoid disappointment.

We visited Ty Be New on a busy Friday afternoon and just managed to squeeze in for lunch about 10 minutes before they closed. We both started with a galette. I had the Saint Jacques (scallops) in whisky sauce which was one of the most expensive on the menu, but still quite reasonable. It was fantastic: tasty, fresh, soft scallops in a beautifully crisp ble noir galette (buckwheat pancake). This was accompanied by good local cider served in traditional bowls and followed by a sweet crepe. The venue is quite informal - a simple café with indoor and outdoor tables on the edge of the marketplace overlooking the harbour. The service is exemplary. It was so good, we just had to go back for another lunch the day after. That time I tried the fantastic hand made burger on buckwheat 'crown' buns. One tip if you go - by watching other tables we discerned it's quite normal to have more than one of what you like, and it's cheap enough, so just go for it.

Excellent host who acquiesced to my request to have my meat well done despite French people thinking that is sacrilege. Eclectic and charming décor. And the food: the best we have had in Concarneau. Much appreciated amuse bouche of rillettes, seriously delicious prawn bisque that I would return for, tender skewers of beef and kangaroo, yummy potato gratin and piping hot apple crumble. Everything is home made and touches like complimentary taster and rum are much appreciated.Merci "l'Irlandaise" pour votre avis, nous serons heureux de vous accueillir pour vousfaire passer à nouveau une bonne soirée.

Creperie of the city center, has two steps of the closed city and of l tourist information office and of the holy high school Joseph. Nice quiet spot for a gourmet break. We welcome you on Monday Tuesday Thursday Friday and Saturday has to leave of 12 hou
We've given this three stars because you have to click something in order to write the review. Just wanted to warn other dog owners not to bother. We were turned away from here as we had two dogs with us (quite small and well behaved), despite the fact that the place was empty. France is known for being dog friendly and we were allowed in much nicer places with our dogs. This is just a little creperie and we passed it three times on our travels and each time it was empty. Seems strange?

This seafood restaurant serves a variety of tasty dishes, including daily specials. The location is inside the Ville Close, but inside the restaurant feels like a real escape. The first-rate staff are among the most welcoming, friendly and helpful that I have encountered. The food and drink prices are reasonable. This is a popular place with locals and visitors, so it's a good idea to book, although I did manage to get a table as it opened in the evening.thank you for your comments that encourage the whole team Vauban LA DIRECTION

Definitely a seafood restaurant. Nice varied menu, good choices but you are here for the seafood particularly the shellfish. Arrived for lunch, good seating available on Friday mid-May. Nice menu and good mdj but they were very friendly and happy to take an order for a dish not on the main menu. We were only there for the oysters and langoustines so combine a simple salad and a hreat meal was had. What more can you ask for, a simple seafood meal, reasonably priced, pleasantly served over a reasonable time span? Full marks.Thank you very much from the entire team. It is thanks to customers like you that we love our job. A big thank you for your encouragement. We will be delighted to welcome you again. The team of Mimosas.
