Find out what French restaurants to try in Conakry. Conakry, Guinea's port capital and once a small island town, has spread to the country's mainland and now comprises 1/4 of the population. This bustling metropolis boasts the national stadium, Stade du 28-Septembre, the National Museum, the Palais du Peuple, a thriving botanical garden, numerous open air markets and plenty of nightlife. Off the coast, the Iles de Los are a popular local escape for swimming and relaxing.

Set in a seaside villa on the Corniche Sud, the underwhelming entrance opens up into what looks like a genuine French bistro - lounge booths, cane chairs and all (see photo accompanying the listing). Strangely though, I've never seen any guests in the room. Instead, it becomes a fancy walkthrough to the back deck, which is where the customers are to be found. It's not the most picturesque, but it's seaside and this is Conakry, so it's perfectly adequate. After dark you forget you are next to the sea, but enjoy the welcome sea breeze. Drinks are cold and good. Food is very average. The menu is too long, meaning that many items are either unavailable or not fresh. Those that are available are fine, but do feel very much like a Conakry version of French classics. Prices are OK. Worth a visit to make up your own mind, but don't expect it to instantly become your favourite spot in Conakry.
Feast is the main restaurant at the Sheraton Grand Addis. Like many such restaurants it serves buffets but it has twist in that it provides some fine dining options. I still salivate over my grilled lotte with beurre blanc, their fishermanâs soup and grillled Commando. Their buffets are decent especially the quality dessert options and Sunday brunch is superb. The restaurant offers many tables with sea views including many on terrace outside where you breathe sea breezes while eating. The staff are uniformly friendly though some are more skilled than others. I particularly appreciated the attentive shift supervisor Benoit. The manager Nicolas is superb and if asked will get the staff to prepare something in line with your preferences even if not on the menu.
Very nice place right in the middle of town part of Grand Central hotel. Food was very good, specially the salads.

The menu is not bad. The food is good and the quality is acceptable. I ate a salad there but got sick afterwards so better to avoid salads. I ate there several times after that without incidents.

We went there a couple of times, the real attraction is the terrace with a nice set up, music not so loud and all the Conackry VIP sitting around. The restaurant at the ground floor and the bar at the mezzanine are very quiet and don't really give you the impression you want to seat there. We didnt have proper dinner but just snacks and tapas........good but not exceptional and a bit overpriced.Definitly a place to go for a soirée with friends and a drink in good company.

Very warm welcome by André in his original typical restaurant near the central market. Sweets are the house specialty, my mango tart was excellent. Before I could enjoy fish salad, tasty gambas fritters, capitaine with yam couscous and eggplant gratin. All tasty and hearty.
