Celebrated my wife's birthday at this beautiful restaurant and enjoyed outstanding service and food. The decor is very tasteful throughout the small space. Lighting is "romantic dim", which presented a challenge when reading the menus. Service was assured and knowledgable. The food, appetizers, salads, and entrees, was beautifully presented and delicious. I could eat the cassoulet three times a day every day.

Our visit to Avenue was the third restaurant in as many evenings. It is an unpretentious space with clean lines and uncluttered seating. Best short ribs! Hands down; nicely presented, tender and flavorful with fresh, crispy green beans and a crunchy-on-the outside, soft-on-the-inside potato cake. Crispy warm bread and a delightfully sweet-tart house-made lemonade rounded out the meal. Our server, Sam was attentive, and his assistant saw to it our water glasses were full and dirty plates were whisked away. In all honesty, Avenue was not my first choice for the evening, but I am glad we ended up there. Lots of kudos from the family on this choice.

This was a highlight of our trip to St. Louis. We ordered the roasted chicken, bistro steak, nicose tuna salad, a side of macaroni and gruyere cheese, and guyeres. Everything was very good, but our favorites were the chicken and tuna. Even though there is not a kids menu, our kids enjoyed the food, too. Itâs in a great neighborhood and has outside seating. Weâd go back any day!
