We had such a fun lunch here after paddling 6km down the Cher River! I sampled local wine, while husband and son enjoyed local beers. I had the goat terrine and country bread, while husband and son both had a delicious meat and vegetable stew. Loved this eclectic place!

Le Relais de Chenonceaux welcome you in the muted charm of its dining room. Beams and fireplace embellish our restaurant. We offer a traditional and quality cuisine. The restaurant is open from February 1st until November 15th as well as during end of the
We stopped by for lunch after visiting the castle. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of the food, especially the galettes (dark salty crêpes). On the other hand the portions are fairly small, and seriously make sure there isn't a bus full of 50 tourists arriving otherwise you'll be stuck there for two hours before getting your food.

When travelling through France, if we find a place with lots of trucks you know right away that you'll get good food at a good price. This 'truck stop' was no different. Nothing fancy but good wholesome food. These 'truck stops' usually offer similar menus: a salad buffet + the main dish + dessert. I had the salads and my friend had the 'plat du jour'. The salads were very good as well as the 2 terrines on the buffet. My friend really enjoyed her entrecote. All the bread, wine and cheese you want too.The service was very efficient and friendly.

We had a 'light' dinner here. We were searching for a place for a light dinner and decided on Au Gateau Breton. Their menu had a good mix of salads. Our French is somewhat minimal, but our hostess and waitress were very gracious and attentive. We ordered a shared a rabbit terrine for a starter which was very good and then each ordered a salad. They were very large! Very satisfying. Note that no other restaurant in the vicinity offers a diverse salad menu, which is what we were in search of. The wine was also very good and everything at a very good price. Great service, prices and food.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of our gîte and we were not disappointed. We ate there on two occasions during our five night stay nearby. We loved the atmosphere and on a warm Friday night it was packed with locals and tourists alike. We did not have a reservation on either occasion but were quickly found a table. I chose a burger both times - I loved the 'St Maure' one with local goat's cheese and 'Le chicken' one was great too. The portions were a good size too. My husband had a calzone pizza both times and liked them a lot too. Our only complaint was that they need more staff, as those working there were working flat out and orders often took a long while to be served.I recommend you pay it a visit, if you're in the area.

We were staying at the hotel, but his did not influence our decision to eat here. On comparing, however, other menus in this beautiful corner of the Loire valley we booked for dinner. From the moment we were shown to our table in a very full restaurant we felt at ease. As lovers of gazpacho we both decided to try their version with rhubarb and beetroot - we'll be trying this at home next summer! The meal got better and better. The wine list was excellent with some good wines at reasonable prices, and we headed for bed after a digestif on the terrace. After a good night's sleep in a quirky bedroom with the wc in a turret we went down to the buffet breakfast. There was more choice of fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, hams and then bacon, eggs, beans, potatoes than in most hotels and we could have lingered longer but the Chateau beckoned and was worth a long visit before we departed for Beaune. Thanks for a lovely stay. We shall return.

This restaurant is a nice option for those staying near Chateau Chenonceaux, about 1 mile away. The dining room is small and could be quite cozy, although the lights were too bright for evening dining. Thus, it lacked ambience. Still the food is superb--beautifully presented and perfectly portioned. The 3-course set menus are an excellent value. Loved the creamy-pea amuse bouche, the fois gras starter and my champagne souflée with vanilla ice cream was perfect! A single waiter managed the room expertly. Service was curt, but polite. Dinner for two plus a reasonably priced bottle of Loire red came to 108 euro. I would eat here again.

Every time we visit the Chateau with friends from abroad we reserve a table for lunch at L'Orangerie. The standard of the restaurant is always reliable. The Staff are always friendly and helpful. The price when one considers the location is very reasonable. There is fine menu with plenty of choice for different tastes. Our friends this time agreed that this was the best meal that we have had in the region although others were very good too. However I do recommend that you prebook so as not to be disappointed, One has to pay to enter the chateau ground to get to the restayrant but it is still well worth the price. Having been to the chateau many times does anyone know how to get to the restaurant without paying the fee to enter the grounds?

After reading the marvelous reviews on TA, we have chosen this restaurant to have a beautiful final of our trip in Loire valley. What a disappointment!!!Multy language speaking reception staff has artificial smiles, and in the restaurant you are welcomed by a super cold and snobbish lady, who evaluates you in a glance, basing on what you wear...and if you wear baskets (clean and not shabby), which is by the way absolutely normal for the tourists, you are treated like a piece of...The food is really average, and even the gorgeous spices of Mr. Roellinger do not save the situation. The service is very slow. And the cherry on the cake - you will wait for your bottle of wine till the very dessert.

I have been visiting Amboise for thé last 40 years. Not a lot changes there. So I was very surprises by this café/brewery. We took a plate with 4 small glasses for 8 euro. Unfortunately no explanation. So I can only Tell you it was not our kind of beer (Taste). Maybe it is best to developpe 1 good beer and then go off thé another. Also the cola and limonade was not our Taste. But we can encourage new things happening in AmboiseIt's true we are brand new and we are glad you found us! It sounds like you tried our flights or "dégustation" which includes our 4 signature beers; Chromatic Cream Ale, Abstract Amber Ale, Iridescent IPA, and Sepia Export Stout. I apologize for a lack of explanation in the moment, perhaps it was a busy time or an accidental oversight. None the less, these are American style craft beers brewed with local French ingredients. They are unique compared to other beers found in the area. We have received lots of positive feedback and we welcome people to get out there and try something new! All 4 of our recipes were developed with a lot of time and attention with multiple tastings and feedback from beer drinkers from an array of backgrounds. We are always eager to get more feedback. Please feel free to email us a more detailed account of your critiques of each individual beer in contrast with their beer style. As for the lemonade and cola we sell local products to support our local economy and realize that they are not always what everyone expects compared to more industrial mass-produced products. However, they are high quality and we feel like that's what counts. Thank you for your feedback!
