After a visit to Dune du Pilat we drove to Cape Ferret to eat at a seafood restaurant that unfortunately was closed. We came to La Cabane to eat some great Oysters, which were great indeed. The view and service are also great. They were so kind to point us to another very good restaurant. Great place.

This must be one of the most idyllic settings imaginable - on a small pier jutting out into arcachon basin with a view of dune de pilat eating the most grumptious fresh oysters with a glass of roseThe oysters are not only freshly plucked from the basin each day but they go through a process which gives them a subtle delicate non-salty taste

A beautiful and charming spot with great view, excellent oysters and shrimp and friendly service. We visited on a cool rainy day and fortunately this restaurant has indoor seating with lovely wood burning fireplace! The outdoor seating is equally as nice...highly recommend the No 3 Fines de claire oysters and pre-peeled shrimp.

We reserved dinner at this oyster shack our first night in Cap Ferret. What a great start to our stay! The simple menu includes oysters, shrimp, whelks, and a home made paté. White or rosé wine is offered by the glass or bottle. The two of us consumed two dozen oysters, a dozen shrimp (not local, but the best you can buy) a bowl of whelks, with a delicious aoili sauce, the fabulous paté, bread, butter and a bottle of reasonably priced white. Add the gorgeous view and friendly service and you have a memorable meal. So good, we went back during the week and were equally pleased.

Definitely a very nice experience in Cap Ferret. The atmosphere and the food were of very good quality. The new owner was very friendly assisting us in choosing our menu and giving explanations about his cooking. Very nice discussions with him too.Wine selection also very good.

The woman who greets your is typically French rude, "WE ONLY SELL OYSTERS!". This is a lie, straight up. As she yelled this at us we saw shrimp going by, which she said we could have, but ONLY if we got oysters. The shrimp were lovely, but you'll need to clean them yourself and you only get six of them. Add the pate, which was nice, and a bottle of their very good wine (only white and rose) and you'll have a great lunch. Beautiful views of the bay as well. So cheap!! Enjoy!!

As it was our first visit to Cap Ferret, we had to try oysters! The food at this little restaurant was so fresh, as though the fish had been caught that morning! We had prawns, oysters and Cap Ferret specialised pâté with bread, as well as some super cheap wine which was very nice. The views from this restaurant are also insane!

Went here for lunch, then returned a week later for dinner. Both times, we ordered the market menu, which was both very good and good value. Carpaccio came with a mixed salad, along with a surprising (and delicious) tomato sorbet. Very tender duck with cepes and a nice souris d'agneau. Service was pleasant, as is the garden. This is the type of honest restaurant one hopes to find but usually can't.
